I am moving to a new apartment and I would like to place my TV in a location that would be very difficult to run a cable. Has anyone used an HDMI transmitter with their Tivo? Any issues or concerns?

I did with a Premiere XL4 a while back. They work OK, AFAIK, they are limited to 1080p, and limit everything in the chain to 1080p.

The approach I liked better was to use a Mini on Powerline adapters, which albeit being totally unsupported, actually did work for me (YMMV).

I've used both HDMI over Cat 5 and Coax. Both with built-in I/R. They always work just fine.

    They can do 4K.

Usually the only thing that gives me trouble is the stupid I/R devices won't stay stuck where they need to.
