It's ok he borrowed my car and dinged it. He just wanted to drive. It's my fault I didn't put one of those steering wheel clamps on it.

Where does it stop? Wallet? Girlfriend?

At some point the roommate needs to learn how boundaries work. If he continues to do whatever he wants because he wants to, he could end up car salesman or something horrible like that.

ah but the roomate set it up incorrectly and forced the TiVo output to be the only way to watch TV. I did that to my kids to make sure they watch only what I want them to., but then I pay the full cable bill.

what is happening is the roomate has switched channels on the TiVo to what he wanted to watch and then the message comes up "alright to switch channels to record something else?" to which the roomate said "cancel the recording and stay on what I want to watch"

the standby or making sure a cable feed goes direct to the TV is the proper fix to this dispute and let it be bygones on the missed shows.

As an off-topic response, chastitiy belts never existed. They are a historical myth. Although a device like this would work, it would also prevent the wearer from going to the bathroom - likely killing them due to the wretched sanitation problem it would create. Simply put, the chastity belt is just one of those things people pass on to see who they can fool. No offense.

Get a second TIVO - put it in your bedroom and network them.

TIVO in bedroom records all your stuff, TIVO in living room is "up for grabs" and you can transfer to watch stuff in Living room as needed.
