Is anyone else in the US using Microsoft's Mediaroom stuff? I know they have customers in Canada and Europe/Asia, but aside from UVerse I haven't heard of anyone else using potentially infringing Microsoft products here.

Looks like they've got a dozen or so small U.S. providers listed on their site. None of them besides AT&T are among the top 25 MSOs although some are larger network companies just starting to offer video services.

That had been their preferred model. I'm wondering if they've decided that unwilling partners are more trouble than they're worth or just decided that they needed to gird for battle against Microsoft.

I just had an ATT salesman come to my door and SWEAR to me that he could hook up my Tivo Premiere to U-Verse service. I at first politely told him I had already gone thru this with other ATT sales people including talking to their Supervisors until we mutually agreed that this was not possible.

Subsequently in a three way phone conversation between the Comcast and Tivo guys trying to get an M card to work in my Premiere I asked the TIVO guy if ATT was compatible and he said no.

I told this to this most recent ATT salesman at my door and he absolutely swears up and down that he has hooked up ATT to TIVO to his personal friends and he KNOWS it is compatible. So we reached an impass.

I just wish these ATT sales people would get their stuff together and stop bothering me every month about switching and not being informed about the compatibility issues with TIVO.

This guy was so sure of himself we almost came to a shouting match. Which isnt of couse any way to try to sell me something. JERK.

He probably did hook up a TiVo, just an older model. The old SD ones with the IR blasters work just fine. Just not anything newer that has HD.
