yup, my guess
I watched about 20 minutes of the first part. I've been considering whether I can sue Sci-Fi for 20 minutes of my life back or whether I should just consider it a loss.
I watched the first part and let the second play while I was doing other things in the room.
I haven't gotten around to watching the third part yet.
That says a lot.
My wife is a big Oz fan so I recorded all three eps for her. We started watching it last night and, after about 30 minutes, I retreated under a barrage of thrown objects. She hated it, I didn't understand or like it, so all three are now in the deleted bin.
Worst script and acting in a Sci-Fi original??? Wow. You obviously haven't seen Mansquito. Or most of their other cheesy but somehow entertaining masterpieces.
I only watched part 1 so far, basically in live time - but due to conflicts I recorded parts 2 and 3 and haven't been motivated to watch them yet. Probably next week when there's nothing new on. I liked part 1 OK - Zooey is always fun and the references to the original Oz movie version were enough to keep my interest. Plus Alan Cumming is a hoot. I do agree that it seems (from the previews I've seen) that they stretched it out too much. Perhaps a 2-parter instead would have had me watching the conclusion already.
LMFAO...funniest thing you've ever said.
I am done with ep 2 now. I have say it is total cheese ball, the effects are sub par and the acting really really really really sucks (Zoe who is normally decent may have killed her career) and the script appears to have been done by scabs before the strike. But, it is mindless fun I would give it a B-.
Soooooo....you liked it?
Zoey as the lead 'DG', a terrible one dimensional actress with a whiney voice.
Kinda hot sister with 'boob monkeys' but NOT worth 6 hours.
I'm a big Neal McDonough (Boomtown, Band of Bruthas) fan but he was not enough to carry this poorly plotted REALLY SLOW moving, totally predictable travesty.
The 30s style milleau was nice. The special effects sucked but I could deal with that if it was well written with snappy dialog, well acted and scenes moved along briskly. NOT.
Agreed...I enjoyed it throughout, but the ending seemed rushed. I thought it was a decent mini-series, but would not make a good series.
I will add my 2 bytes in, I really enjoyed it, also was let down by the ending, and will buy the DVD since I'm an Oz fangirl.
It's no Lost Room, but it was enjoyable enough.
It's not Masterpiece Theater but it's not that bad, contrary to to the opinions of the the people who only watched twenty minutes of it.
Okay, I watched two hours (the first episode), it was awful. I really gave up on it though when the robot that hovers, burst forth. His body looks like an upside down version of the energy dome Devo used to wear in the 80's. I just busted out laughing when I saw that. Its a shame, I was so looking forward to this show.
I do agree with the point that Zooey Deschanel was limper than 2 week old lettuce, but she was OK in HHGTTG.
To watch or delete:
If you have ever enjoyed watching a SciFi Original Movie OR are allergic to the current crop of "reality" television and have nothing else to watch during the strike OR are simply intrigued by the phrase "boob monkeys"... then watch it.
If you answered NO to all of those, then delete it.
So did ya watch?
Well, I was GOING to watch it this weekend, and never got to it, wife dragged me shopping and son wanted to watch a movie instead. So maybe in the next couple of weeks I'll sit and judge for myself. I'm not a HUGE sci-fi fan per se (loved Star Wars, hate Star Trek and all the morphs to give you an idea where I come from), but I do love things that are quirky (fan of things like Pushing Daisies, Arrested Development, like that). But it sounds to me like quirky but poorly done.
You don't mean this guy?
WEEEAAKKK!!!! Could the ending have been more useless
I wanted at least a reference to
"And you were there, and you and you!!!"
Sheesh, can you spoilerize? I haven't seen it yet!!!
