My buddy just told me that Cincinnati now has the .0801 update. He got it yesterday.

Hopefully this will resolve the "reboot" problems many of us have been having.

I will post back after I set it up.

Which will still probably be *AFTER* all of the season finales! ;)

so, I have 2 tivo Hd's that i just recently got and traded my 2 dvr boxes from timewarner, I got the M cablecards, and about a week ago they seem to work fine, but now I am missing channels, I am assuming I need that TA, but I keep hearing nightmares about it, how long are we going to need to use that adapter? are tivo's becoming obsolete? I just got my 2nd one within 30 days so I can return it if we aren't going to be able to use them properly.

    please advice.

    TIA.

so I got my TA's installed, they seem to work fine for right now, the one upstairs the green light is solid, the one downstairs it's blinking, how do I go about upgrading the firmware, I see that they have usb ports. I have the cisco STA1520.

Really? I periodically get periods of time where mine just go dark until I realize it and restart it, mine is also running 701 (I'm also in Austin). In fact my TA has been out since Monday or Tuesday and I just noticed -- only this time it doesn't seem to want to come back to life. It'll power on and blink lights, but every time in diagnostics it says "Tuner: Invalid" and "Tuning Mode: Uninitialized". Any recommended ways for fixing this? I've rebooted the TA and the tivo (Tivo HD) multiple times each with and without the connection between them and no luck.

Really wish TW would provide some basic support for this on their website. I guess I'll try to waste an hour on the phone with them.

Looks like the phone support was a success. I used their automated system to send my TAs a hit. Took a little while, and a couple of reboots for the troubled TA but it came back online finally.

glad to hear, so are they supposed to be blinking or just solid? cuz I have 2 and one of them has a solid light and the other one blinks.

from what i can see the TA was a mutual "fix" from TW and Tivo. they had a nice idea but didnt seem to follow through very well with it since TW was in the middle of massive upgrades at the time of the TA release.

My question to anyone here is does anyone recieve any of the ondemand services on your tivo with the cable card?

The hit fixes me too. I have two TA's and noticed I was missing some non SDV as well as some SDV channels. TA was solid green so I rebooted the TiVO and everything came back to life. Channels were fine. Later in the evening I went upstairs and noticed that TV was missing channels even though it's TA was solid green. I rebooted the TiVo with no luck. Then I powered off the TA and it wouldn't come back on at all. No light or anything. Finally called TWC and requested they hit my TA and gave them the SAB # and it worked. This my first outage in a few months. Wish we had an automated hit process.

I just had a tech install an M card in my Premiere last week (no tuning adapter), and I was only receiving 13 TOTAL channels. Tech is coming Friday (hopefully with a tuning adapter). Is it possible that almost all channels are now SDV? Any updates on tuning adapter stability for Time Warner in Bergen County, NJ or NYC?

Yes, it is not only possible that almost all channels are now SDV, it is probable, especially with TWC.

A Tuning Adapter, properly installed, will provide all the SDVs, nearly all of the time.

I would think it highly unlikely that you have only 13 linear channels. Would these 13 channels happen to be 'locals'? If so, that would suggest that your cablecard is not properly paired.

I've mentioned it elsewhere, but you might want to check and see if suggestions are recorded after the TA is installed.

Thanks. I don't record tivo suggestions, but will try to record some of my usual shows and see what happens. I'll update the list on how the service call goes.

Just thought I'd provide an update. Now 24 hours after Cisco STA1520 tuning adapter time warner installation and all is well. Tivo did not require a reboot or guided channel setup, and tuning adapter was installed with Tivo on. Channels recording at high quality. No apparent problems.

TWC tech service is still not at all acquainted with Tivo or these adapters, however. In May, a letter from time warner to customers in the NYC area requesting people go to their payment centers to pick up a free adapter. (letter: http://www.timewarnercable.com/Medi...gement/Documents/Learn/SDVLetter_June2010.pdf ) My payment center was out of the adapters, so it required a tech to "install". When the tech arrived, I first had to convince the tech that I needed it (he didn't understand why, if I wasn't ordering pay per view, which is the only reason he knew that people needed the adapters). I would recommend you read all of the tuning adapter setup guidelines and troubleshooting you can get your hands on before having them installed. I had to watch this rep like a hawk, and had noticed he installed it incorrectly, and fixed it while he was there (he had put the cable line into the Tivo antenna jack by mistake). The setup didn't appear to require the central office sending any refresh signals to the adapter, although I may have missed this. No time was required between installation and viewing of all the channels.

I'm confident that all is well now, although I'm definitely not pushing my luck and rebooting tivo or doing guided setup anytime soon. Hope all of you have this luck with any new adapter installations with TWC in NJ or NYC.

    Nowhere...
TAs should have at least .0801 if your TA did not take a FW update & you are having issues i would ask for a new one.
