Ok so I think my hard drive is failing. My Series 2 keeps rebooting itself every so often. Temperature was fine, connections were fine, i did a complete reformat/reset and even during the reset, it would randomly reboot itself. So something is wrong.

If I went to get a new HDD for it, how hard is it to add it in? Any model HDD will be ok?

Any model will be ok. You need to read through the stickies at the top of the upgrade forum to get an idea of what all is involved. The new drive needs to be programmed in Linux.

You would want to replace it.

If you are comfortable with a command line OS, then it shouldn't be too hard.

You can also see some of the links in my signature below. They will be helpful with your upgrade. Do you have an image for your model DVR? If not, then you need to get one before you will be able to install your new drive. You can PM StanSimmons or you can purchase an instant cake CD from a forum sponsor (ptvupgrade). Good luck.
