I also thought that scene showed that Rick was still on his power trip. All those lives in his hands and he still hesitated and wanted to negotiate when it should have been exceedingly clear by that point that Negan was fully in charge. Yeah it's a bummer to whack off your kid's arm, but it's better than the alternative. Plus to be fair it wasn't even his dominant arm...even Carl told him to man up and do it.

And lest anyone think I'm a heartless bastard I cried my eyes out.....mainly for Glenn and Maggie.

I think Rick might be all done and the comeuppance will be led by Maggie.

I liked Abe. I cannot wait to see Negan get killed! (I don't read the comics)

I doubt I could watch that episode again, I'm still nauseated. I think it affected me the most that so many people would stand around In the background and watch him bash people's heads in. The thought that nobody is willing to challenge him in sickening.

I was expecting Glenn because of the combination of them toying with killing him off last season and then Steven noticeably disappearing from the late night talk show circuit over the summer while other cast members were still making appearances. Then those other cast members talking about how the premiere will knock everyone on their asses and it took the actors weeks to recover from it seemed to ice it.

    Sorry for this....

Is this indicative of our society? pushing the envelope so much we are getting totally indoctrinated with horrible violence and dirty talk, sex jokes etc?

    Rome decadence?

Abe is more expendable than Gene? NFW! Gene is a pile of wasted brain matter... Would have jumped for joy to see him go.

Maybe I should have said the most expendable that would have still had an impact on fans.

Would've definitely have preferred to see Gene go instead of Abe.

It was a tough show to watch I'll miss both characters but I was prepared for Glen given what I'd heard about the comic storyline.

    I really liked Abraham.

I think they did a good job making the killings so brutal that the audience would quickly hate Negan. Jeffrey Dean Morgan is so likable (and gorgeous), I think that was smart.

Yeah, I don't want to watch torture porn, which is what this episode felt like. I was going to be done if they took an easy out and didn't kill someone we cared about, now I may be done not because they killed Glenn but because I just don't want to watch this kind of brutality.

Some of the moments when they really made Rick look like a trapped animal were quite good, in terms of cinematography and acting, like when he was first in the van and when he was on the ground around the Carl threat.

But mostly this episode just went too far for me.

I was expecting it to be Glenn, so then when he killed Abraham, I was very relieved. But then Daryl pops Negan and that then required a second life and it totally caught me off guard when he whacked Glenn.

I wonder how guilty Daryl feels now. Will anyone in the group hold him responsible for Glenn's death?

Yah, I thought he was going to be it, because of that, plus he's also the toughest looking.

And Glenn because it was supposed to end like this.

Or even reverse the deaths. Kill Glenn first, then the Abraham killing is not 6 months of anticipation, but really shocking.

I thought the episode was OK. Maybe a bit too graphic for my taste. They could have accomplished the same thing without showing bashed in heads. But I get it.

I do agree that offing Abraham on the last show of S6 and and Glenn on this episode would have been a much better payoff.

My main complaint (as I think I've said before) is the length of time we have to wait for the continuation of the story. I can't remember exactly where Carol is. I think she left the group and maybe Morgan went after her?? Then I seem to remember some guys on horses. How about the Jesus guy, is he still around?

Same. My god. I wanted to come last night and read but I was honestly so shell shocked. I don't think I've had this visceral of a reaction to a TV show episode since the red wedding. This was by far worse for me. Not only was Glenn my favorite but after preparing for his death all summer, they let me breath a sigh of relief just to not only take that away from me but to force me to watch the most agonizing, brutal death I can honestly remember ever seeing. That was literally horrifying. I think I should have not watched it live and allowed someone the spoil me on it so I had a tiny bit of preparation for that. I'm still shaken by it. Great TV or the worst? I haven't yet decided.
