Daryl had become the most interesting person on this show before this episode. Glad he was featured in this hour. The only other person I care about is the crotchety blonde. I thought she and Daryl would eventually hook up but that doesn't seem so likely with her shooting him in the head and all.

But what brings people closer together than one shooting the other in the head? Think of the meet-cute story they'll be able to tell their grandchildren! :D

Yeah, I was rooting for Daryl and hoping they wouldn't write him out. That whole bit of him crawling up the wall, not once but twice! that had me on edge. I was wondering why he didn't walk down stream or upstream a bit to see if there was a better place to get out. When he yanked the arrow out I just couldn't watch.

That was harsh, because he had to pull it out from the tip and pull the back end, with the feathers on it, through his body. eek

It would have been easy to remove if he didn't need to reuse the arrow. Break off the arrowhead end and then pull from the feather end. Unfortunately he needed the arrow quickly.

It never occurred to me that they might actually kill Darryl off.

I've read that he is not in the comics, (graphic novel, whatevs! :p ), but he seems like a fairly popular character. I think Norman Reedus is really great in the role, and the show would be a lot more boring without Darryl. I'm curious as to whether they will ever meet up with Merle again and what that would mean for Darryl.

I didn't understand why he pulled it out that way. Usually, you can just unscrew the arrowhead from the shaft and then it would have been much easier to pull out the other way.

    What about her crotch? :D

Yeah ... "Kids, lemme' tell y'all 'bout that time way back during the Zombie Apocalypse ... I took one look at your Grandma when it suddenly hit me ..."
    "You mean love, Grandpa?"
"No, I mean the bullet that she fired at me ... it hit me clean upside the head!"
    :D

Yes, but given that he had a zombie approaching quickly, he had to get access to the full arrow quickly.

Do you think Darryl is dead? I didn't get that impression. I just got the impression that Merle was delusional and seeing his brother as a part of his delusion. Well, the only thing that made me wonder was that Darryl did have both of his hands.

The guy who plays Darryl was on Talking Dead after this ep. Chris Hardwick asked him if we'd be seeing more of Darryl and he was elusive about it. I got the feeling that we WILL be seeing more of him. For whatever myriad of reasons, this is a very popular character.
