I enjoy this show quite a bit. Many of my complaints stem from stupid characters, which are not always a sign of stupid writing, but can still frustrate viewers. There are times when I think the show has stupid writing but it is still a very entertaining show and certainly among my favorite shows currently airing.

I, too, tend to make it a point to not over-analyze the show. I usually watch the corresponding episode of 'Talking Dead' right after and that puts everything into perspective for me. Hilarious show and very informative with guests from the show and behind the scenes stuff.

That's a good point. Some of these episodes haven't advanced the story that much, especially regarding Sophia. When you watch them all in one weekend, it doesn't seem to drag on as much as it must feel like over five weeks.

It's also Shakespeare compared to Romero's Survival of the Dead, which was mentioned earlier in the thread.

And to be honest, they haven't done a good job of getting across the fact that this entire season so far has taken space over a span of about three days. They mention it once in a while, but it just doesn't FEEL that short.

I would agree with that. Even the one line they had this week "You know you only have 72 hours and then you're just looking for a body" didn't help. They should have mentioned how much time had already passed so we'd have a reference.

I/we may pick this show apart, but it still is fantastic.

    Wouldn't...
Concerning a cure, if they did find one and were able to get it spread around, wouldn't almost every "cured" person immediately drop dead? Or are they really looking for an immunization, rather than a cure?

Yea I was thinking that too. It's like cancer, your organs have decomposed. I don't see how they heal back up.

Assuming that Hershel is keeping them until a cure is found..... they probably don't know what a cure would do, but they at least want the chance to save their friends/family.

They need to freeze the people in liquid nitrogen as soon as they die. No different than a cryonics enthusiast would do with their own body after death (whether or not infected by the zombie virus).

It would be an absolute horror to get your mind back and have your body mostly decayed. Do not resuscitate takes on a whole new level of meaning.

You could still do a season on putting the civilization back together after a "vaccine" is found. Or maybe 2 or 3.

Great book! Too bad they're going to screw it up by making a movie out of it.

Wouldn't dropping dead be better than being a zombie? Or seeing your family as zombies?

Thanks for the spoiler, I planned to read that book.

Anyway, I came here looking for discussion of the happenings on the show and all I found is a lot of (IMO unfounded) vitriol. I'm not sure what people are expecting from the show, but it seems like a lot of you aren't getting what you're looking for.

Why continue watching if you hate the show that much?

Anyway. . . no mention of the hallucination of Merle, no mention of the crazy rifle lady making probably the stupidest move anyone has ever made . . .

I guess I'll just keep watching and avoid these threads.

That's as much of a spoiler as saying Harry Potter is about magic.

I would cremate anyone who died in my presence in that world, not cryogenically freeze them.
