There was no itunes bonus at all for the finale.
I wonder how much that hurt Matt. If you have folks that only voted that way previously, then suddenly their weighting dropped for the finale.
Seems strange to change the rule you have used all along just for the finale.
Apparently the duets did not count either (both Matt and Chris had duets in the top ten). Basically everything about the voting in the finale was weighted towards Craig. Not saying it was intentional or that "the fix was in" - it just worked out that way.
I don't think many people knew when they were buying all those singles that the rules were different and they wouldn't count for much.
That said, Matt's single Wasted Love is still number one which is pretty impressive. The other's are all dropping.
It's going to be interesting to see if any of the people who didnt win end up with a singing career. Last years winner didn't release an album that I know of but is in a musical on Broadway. Most of the country singers that have been on Team Blake have the advantage of being able to open for him and his wife. That helps to jump start their careers. I wasn't sure about Chris when I first heard him but he came on really strong the last two weeks. He had what I call salebility, what the younger crowd is looking for. I am glad to see they finally gave him a Timberlake song to perform. I see him as that type of performer.
Funny how a guy who was dropped from two teams ended up winning.
