The other thing they make a point of mentioning is that all the votes that have been cast through the season seem to count for the final total. That makes it a little tougher to get a clean idea of who's getting what votes.

Yeah - and I think they do that on purpose to keep the finish less predictable.

Most other seasons, you could pretty much guess the winner.

This time - I'm not so sure...

Then that would lead me to believe that Matt is almost a lock.

    Eh....per Wikipedia they do count.

And the bonus is 5 votes not ten.

These changes began with season 5.

    Makes Matt a lock imo.

    from wikipedia:

    >>As of the top 12 results show of season three, producers made changes in the voting system with regards to iTunes singles purchases. Previous voting via iTunes purchases of contestant performances had previously only counted singly during the official voting window and only accredited to the live show in concern. If a competitor's performance charts within the Top 10 of the iTunes "Top 200 Singles Chart" during this window, it will be given an iTunes bonus that multiplies iTunes votes made by ten.

Starting in season five, the iTunes bonus multiplier is now five for the studio versions of the songs performed by the competitors. The finale's vote count will include a 'Cumulative iTunes Vote Total' of all singles (from top 12 onwards) purchased during and outside of the various voting windows, with iTunes bonuses previously earned.[11]<<

If this is true then imo it's:

    1. Matt (by a landslide)
    2. Craig
    3. Chris
    4. Damien

Matt has had 5 top ten, Craig 3, Chris 4. Matt and Craig have had songs remaining on the top 100 for weeks on end (Matt moreso). Chris only really began charting with impact a couple of weeks ago.

Okay this is weird. This is a cached page of the current rules from earlier today on the Voice website. That page now redirects to the main Voice page...

I could not copy and paste:

    http://webcache.googleusercontent.c...the-voice/vote/help+&cd=3&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us

    A few key points:

    1. The cumulative iTunes vote total only applied to last weeks semi-finals (and it was 10 votes) to determine who would be in the finals this week. It does not apply to the finale.

    2. There is NO iTunes top ten bonus for last night

    3. The winner will be determined by combining votes from all sources from last night only - and iTunes downloads only count as one vote.

Based on that, I have no idea who is going to win now. I think the vote splitting (from non iTunes sources) could now play heavily in Craig's favor though. Bottom line is based on the above, a case could be made for any on of them winning (except Damien).

Votes getting split had to hurt. I thought Matt had it.

I'm happy for Craig too! Great ending but I actually fast-forwarded through almost the entire show except for when Craig was singing each time. Yes, yes, I know I'm in the minority.

    Congrats Craig.

Not who I was rooting for but I have no problem with it.

I guess that The iTunes top ten bonus only is applied once and that multiple songs in the top ten did not add any extra bonus. Either that or the duets did not count at all.

I think the judges did a very nice job on one of my favorite Christmas songs.

I wondered why Bruno Mars had curlers in his hair?

With only one original member left in the group I am not sure Lynyrd Skynyrd should actually be calling themselves that anymore.

Nope. I like his voice too and also was rooting for him all along.

    Yeah, WTH?

Perhaps. And it seems all they do these days is play Alabama on finales of singing competitions. That being said, I like LS and SHA, and thought Craig did a great job on it. I also noted a few missed high fives at the end....LOL.

Surprisingly I became more and more of a fan of Chris Jamison over the last few weeks and was hoping he would win.

I will readily admit that I am not a country music fan but not only do I not think Craig should have won, I don't even think he should have been in the top 20.
OMG what a poser!!! If he mugged it up one more time for the camera I was going to throw something at it.

I guess you can't discount the Blake Shelton voting power machine. Yikes!

Curlers aside, Bruno Mars was great.
