Funny, I was just thinking about that the other night and I think the answer is Simon Cowell and the fact the AI contestants had recording contracts and a record company that pushed them. Cowell was a record company person long before he was a judge and you got to admit he has a knack for turning people in to recording stars. All the AI kids, Susan Boyle, New Direction and even that girl group from The US X Factor that are still around. I don't think THE VOICE has any record company affiliation that takes and markets their contestants into hit recording artists. As for this season, I always start to lose interest once they go live - and every year I am amazed at how many singers I think are amazing are let go and others that I think are mediocre make it to the live shows. I don't think any that are left really stand out.
