I'm two episodes behind, so I've only seen Blake and Adam's live round and haven't seen any results yet. Only real standout for me is the mop head dude who sang the Beach Boys' God Only Knows and I also really like the country dude who sang the Garth song. If the TSA guy can keep it simple, he has a really rich and pretty voice (I don't care for all the warbly stuff). I kind of like the sound of the blond chick with the haunting sound, but it seems that's not such a unique sound any more.

I like the addition of Gwen and Pharrell; however, I don't think either of them are very critical. As much as I dislike Christina as a coach, I did think she sometimes added helpful advice to all of the contestants.

During the auditions I got kind of peeved that Gwen was gushing at the creativeness and artistry of a guy that copied Dia's cover of a song.

    Anyone else watching?

I'm watching, although I haven't seen this week's episode(s). So far, there are a few with potential, but nothing has wowed me quite yet. I'd say if there's someone that seems to be a front runner, it'd be Craig Wayne Boyd.

He's the long hair country dude, right? I didn't enjoy his live performance. Something with the way he pronounces words irritates me - at least it did on his latest.

True... I did think he sounded a bit like he was singing with dentures. :)

Agreed. I'm not a country fan, but he is killing it imo.

    Valparaiso,...
This season is pretty bland for me. Danica and Reagan are the only ones I really like, but if that tattoo mop does more things like the Beach Boys song, he will go up in my esteem. Whats making this boring is that the coaches always over praise their own them, like they are used car salesmen. And the other coaches go along with it, with no constructive criticism. At least Christina was good with that.

Love Luke Wade - Lets Get It On, indeed.

Listening to Pharrell give instruction to the band is impessive. I have no idea what he's saying, but it definitely impresses me.

    DaNica is my favorite.

I think Pharrell may win this season. I don't care for Elijah, and he may be kept and mess up my wishes.

    I like Craig Wayne Boyd.

He reminds me of Travis Tritt, and I LOVE Travis Tritt.

With the exception of Anita's song about bass, I think Gwen made some bad song choices for her team (Im still talking about last week).

I'm not sure why the woman who sings reggae keeps getting a pass. Most of the other singers have shown at least some range in musical styles.

With the exception of her, the other picks seem to be tracking what I would expect.

CWB does seem to be getting better, and has a very professional stage presence. He may win by virtue of the "country" block vote.

The TSA guy killed it Monday, so he deserves to be there.

So far this season, I like that many of the judges have dug out some "old" music, stuff like Bread, etc., that the current generation has probably never heard.

I've been watching, but my HD antenna feed has been pretty spotty for NBC (maybe winter weather?), so I've missed large parts of the viewer voting rounds. As usual for "The Voice," I don't really notice the contestants; they're mostly all decent to good.

I still prefer the judging lineup with Shakira and Usher. However, Gwen Stefani and Pharrell are much preferable to Christina Aguilera and Cee-Lo.

I did quite like Taylor Swift's guest mentoring. It seemed like she had a lot to offer in terms of stage performance. I'd love to see her get a shot at judging.

I was reading an article on the internet that focused on the fact that no genuine "star" has been produced by The Voice.

It hadn't really occurred to me...I guess I just enjoy the season, and forget about tracking the momentum of the contestants and the winners...

American Idol has produced quite a number of bonafide stars, including Kelly Clarkson, Daughtry, Jennifer Hudson, Carrie Underwood, etc... Of course, winning AI doesn't guarantee success...but they definitely have a better track record than The Voice...

I wonder what's the root cause of such a discrepancy in success between the two shows... I know that AI has a larger viewership...but the Voice viewership is no slouch...

I'm always surprised on how many songs Blake doesn't know or hasn't heard of. He has been the main face of country music on the show, most if not all the other judges seem to be able to intelligently comment on country music songs, yet he doesn't seem to be fully in touch with the music scene outside of country.

Granted, he has won the show many times. Not knocking his ability or coaching.

And its not really limited to just current stuff. There were one or 2 songs that to the current contestants would be considered "oldies" that he mentioned he'd never heard before. Weird.

I think Danica is my favorite as just a great technical singer.
Although when Matt did God Only Knows I became a fan.
I am not sure how the Reggae singer keeps getting through.

I knew Sugar was gone this week.

I don't think a lot of the other judges really know much about country music, either. Maybe some of the newer stuff, but not much else. I think Blake is just a lot more humble and honest and admits when he doesn't know something.

For the last few seasons, The Voice viewership has been higher than that of AI.

I've watched every season of Idol, and this is the first season of The Voice that I've watched. The Voice seems like a nicer show. It's competitive, but it's more of a friendly competition which might explain the higher ratings as well as the lack of a star. Idol judges definitely steer the audience into voting the way that they want to a greater extent. The Voice seems to leave more up to the audience.
