I prefer if Chris or Dave or both go, but I also think Blake’s mafia will prevent too much damage from being done to his team. If Kennedy is bottom 3 (she had the disadvantage of opening the show) then whoever else is in the bottom 3 is gone.

So they eliminate 2 tonight, that leaves like 8 (having problems remembering exactly how many are left at the moment)? The finals are 12/17, so they must plan on having a bloodbath next week.

He's become a lousy coach imo.

And throwing one of his contestants under the bus tonight isnt going to help him get the better singers to choose him in the future. He is supposed to be back for the spring season but I wouldn't be shocked if that changes.

Yes if I was DeAndre I'd be angry with Adam. wtf was the Gwen Stefani performance? I have enjoyed Regan's performances so far, but it was wrong for her to be kept without a performance. If you can't sing when its your turn, come back next year. IMHO

Boy, I did not realize how right I was. I am not sure I would have said that if I knew she would not even sing for the save

If I were a contestant in the future, I would never choose Adam as my coach.

Once you make the live shows, you can't come back....IIRC.

Is it even the live shows in the case of the voice. I have only ever seen people who have never gotten a chair turn come back.

Pretty sure there was someone last season that had left during the battles or knockouts a previous year.

Generally true but no law against making an exception.

How you doing gb? Miss you at Pack. Tracy is running a game right now. I'm supposed to be next....

I'd choose Blake, Kelly, or Alicia. Best chance to go deep/win and they help their people after the show.

They are also much better at recognizing talent. Adam consistently misses out by not turning his chair around. Plus he often cuts the wrong people from his team.

You could tell DeAndre was pissed but knew to stay classy about it. Same with the rocker chick Adam cut in the blinds.

His credibility is shot. He can apologize blah blah blah, but he made a really big mistake.
(Not to mention his seemingly creepy attachment to the girl) The producers should have him take a few seasons off.

I’ll give them 24 hours to reflect upon it, but I don’t see how it’s skin off anyone’s nose for them to let DeAndre back in and have a one-time top nine semifinals next week instead of top eight. Just eliminate one extra person next week. Reagan gets to be there because of the twitter vote (which I believe she won only because of the novelty that she DIDN’T sing... it was very close) and DeAndre gets to be there to avoid the injustice of the close second under the unique circumstances. In lieu of that, Reagan should do the honorable thing and withdraw on the condition that DeAndre take her place.

Reagan was the most streamed artist the previous two weeks so, while the pity vote obviously helped, she still had her fans. If she had been able to sing for the save I honestly believe the outcome would have been the same, but not as close as it was

According to the NBC press release,
the top three go through to the final, while the next three compete for the "instant save" fourth spot

Dang it, missed a Tracy game :( Work is crazy right now. Hopefully I get a handle on it soon.

That's not completely true, they really do have to pay attention to the rules that they've put in place. There's something called "Standards and Practices" or something like that that they have to adhere to or they can really get in a bunch of trouble. Starting to change the rules on the fly is one of those things that can cause them problems. I know that discussion has come up a few times with SYTYCD, can't remember whether it was on-air discussions or whether it was stuff I saw when I watched some of the auditions there.

While it may seem to the viewer that some of these shows just seem to change things when they want, in general I'd be willing to bet that those changes were all documented well in advance about what would happen and when, just not released as public info. Deviating from the rules is far more likely to leave them open to lawsuits.

I think it depends on how bad off she is. If she misses a week, she just faces the voting. If she is out for the season, they could invite her back. One of the other shows did that (SYTYCD?).

American Idol changed its rules many times over the years concerning who could come back and who couldn't. IIRC, the "point of no return" was originally making the live shows, then making the "elevator ride" (at the Pasadena City Hall to have the judges tell you whether or not you made it to the live shows), then back to making the live shows, and eventually it was "top ten, or going on the tour." The strange thing was, when they did change the rules, the rules in place at the time for earlier seasons stayed in effect - once you were told you could not come back, you still could not come back even if you would have been able to under the new rules.
