Ooh that could be fun! Now if Lie to Me could undo the hiring of Mekei Phiefer. I hated that guy on ER and I'll hate him here too.

I thought they had some great episodes. But this past season has really stretched it for me and while I'd like it to be renewed, I can deal that it hasn't.

This absolutely sucks. I'm going to miss this show greatly.

I don't suppose there is any chance that a viewer campaign can save this show, but I'll fire off an email to Moonves anyway. Since the show is produced by 20th Century Fox I'm going to hold out a slim hope that Fox might be able to (and want to) pick it up. (Not at all likely I know.)

I dropped The Unit when it got convoluted and boring... end of season 2 I think? I was hoping to pick it up again and catch up at some point, maybe this summer.

Rules and Gary Unmarried are both very funny. Not many good sitcoms on right now. And set costs for a sitcom taking place in one room must be cheaper than blowing up stuff.

dang well said, if i had 500 characters in the sig line, i would add it :D

it's not selfish it's merely saying you need 2 tvs and 2 dvrs and also that you are spending too much time together :) Some couples have no time together but it's actually a testament that you do have this 'selfish problem' as you put it :D

i'm sure many couples wish they had time to sit down with SO and fight over the marathons

so are they saying we are all old ....this is the 2nd thread this week that has called me old and i'm getting a complex

well how many different brands is he now advertising during the show itself

hey if you want to go into the lactating mothers or ladies fashion threads, i wont stop you :p I've noticed on this forum any topic address to the ladies has about 10 post before any females even participate

GU is one of the very very rare shows i tolerate a laughtrak on....otherwise i gravitate to shows that dont have one and will usually shy away from any show that has a trak....thus id like simpsons, office, parks/rec, ted, etc.

i never understood WHY if shows like those survive without a trak, they need tracks at all?

CBS's average viewer is older and more often than not actually has the cash to buy what the advertisers are selling. OTOH, advertisers seem to want more eyeballs from the younger, "key" demo that is often likely to buy things on credit. With the credit crunch for that demo the thinking may be under review. ;)

I really liked the acting on the show.

I didn't really like the wives, but I thought they were all very good in their role. The wives were often put into ridiculous scenarios, but the actresses handled them well.

Kim + Bob were a great couple. My favorite of the three.

I didn't like Molly, but Jonas + Molly were a good couple.

I think they should replace The Unit with CSI - Nebraska... It seems that Military shows have a hard time (AKA Over There). I will miss The Unit and I'm < 55yo (37) and would even consider switching to Allstate if they keep it around :)

    It's a shame, I will miss it...

The advertisers are more interested in the younger demos not because of income or buying power, but because they are more likely to be influenced by the advertising. Advertisers generally feel that the older someone is, the more likely they are to be set in their ways and the less likely they are to be influenced by a spot on TV. Therefore, while the older demo may have more money to spend, the advertisers generally don't focus on them.

This is the reason that CBS is the only network this season that actually increased its viewership, yet lost revenue overall.

I'm really going to miss The Unit, one of my favorite shows.

The 3 shows I'll miss the most that were cancelled are:
    • The Unit
    • Terminator
    • Life

did they get their start here or were they in the biz before the show? I can only imagine the lines of kids there are for parts on tv and it's a tough nut to crack. I also wondered how much kids make doing this kind of show but realize that may be a tad personal.

Actually there's a more deep question there, i just wonder what anyone gets paid for a few minutes of work in any show, namely people like the 'red shirts' that always get killed

Well, given how they never explained how he recovered from the poisoning thing, they could easily just bring him back like nothing ever happened.

Yeah, yeah, I know he wasn't dead then, but still, I always hated how they never addressed it at all. Plus, Tony Almeida was dead - I realize Palmer was even more dead, but dead is dead, right?
