Just started having finished Broadchurch. Seems good so far after 2 episodes.
I finished season 2 yesterday. I was surprised that it was only eight episodes instead of ten. I thought season 2 was better and more believable than season 1.
good to hear because I loved season 1 and am ready to start season 2 and am Tivo'ing season 3 on PBS for the future
Finished S1 over the weekend. The last two episodes had me on the edge of my seat. I'll start on S2 later in the week. The earlier episodes of S3 are available on one of the local PBS channels (we get 4 or 5 of them here in the NYC Metro), but in glorious SD. I'm recording them but hoping that our primary PBS channel (WNET ch. 13) does a marathon after the season is over and I'll pick up all of them in HD.
I am finding S3 so confusing. It could be that this series has more French dialog and subtitles than the earlier (it seems to me) and comes on at 10:30 p.m. (I tend to watch it "live" or near-live) when I'm least inclined to want to be reading subtitles.
When I checked last week, my Xfinity on-demand only had episode 2 of season 3 available.
For me, season 3 has been a disjointed disappointment.
I was able to set up recordings for 4 or 5 episodes but they are appearing out of order and we are watching them too quickly lol. At $.99 per episode on Amazon they are cheap enough to not wait.
I was able to catch 2 or 3 by recording and bought the others. Now just awaiting ep 6 which I think recorded overnight. For some reason it wasn't available on Amazon as of yesterday.
Sad, sad, sad . . . .
I finished S2 over the weekend. Great series so far. I have S3 recorded, but some in SD, and some in HD, depending on the local PBS channel they recorded from. I'll probably wait a bit to see if they all show up in HD at some point as I have other stuff to watch. The new TV season will be upon us pretty soon and that will cut down on my binging, so I want to try and watch the stuff I had planned to binge.
Finished season 3. I liked it but enjoyed 1 & 2 more. Gotta find another British series now that I've finished this and Broadchurch!
A Brit. take on the U.S. Cagney & Lacey approach: "Scott & Bailey." Somewhat similar but without the "buddy leads": "Happy Valley." And overall excellence likewise with stellar acting (as in the aforementioned) and gorgeous landscape photography: "DCI Banks."
I'll check them out, thanks!
Just finished season 2, question, what does Elise eat for dinner on the roll? They look like French fries on a roll?
We've watched all 3 Seasons of it on PBS over the past 3 years and loved. You can also stream it from your PBS app.
Great finish to Season 3. And yes, Elise does indeed eat a french fry sandwich.
Just finished season 3, OMG.
I didn't like S3 as much as the first two, but, that ending......wow!!!
Spoiler: About the S3 Finale
Elise dying made me feel melancholy for the rest of the night. Her last words to Karl were about as perfectly written as could be...Thank you for being my friend. That one ranked up there with one of the best series finales that I've ever seen. It still haunts me, even though once Karl had the choice, I knew that's how it would go down. Poor Stannis / Karl....they are always taking away people he loves in gut wrenching methods
I agree concerning S1 & 2 better. A real no-win ending for sure. Very well done overall.
Watching The Fall now with Gillian Anderson. Also very good so far - it's 3 seasons of 5 episodes each. We're on ep 3 of season 2.
