Is anyone else watching this? I find it odd that I like a show that no one else does. Seems kind of backwards.

I've watched the first one of this season, I think.

It took me almost the whole season before I started watching it last year.

I just have more I'd rather watch right away, so this is one of the ones that gets pushed back.

I deleted the season pass after season 1, completely expecting there was no sane person on Earth who would renew it.
When I heard it was renewed I considered adding the season pass back, but then I realized how bad season 1 was and decided that it's unlikely Showtime will present enough (or any) full frontal nudity of Jonathan Rhys Meyers or Henry Cavill that I can't already get online to make it worth numbing my brain for an hour a week with another season of the most boring historical series with seriously meager production standards.

If there's another television-related strike, maybe I'll watch it then.

    :p

I can't believe I am going to say this, but I simply don't get the attraction to Jonathan Rhys Meyers. Henry Cavill I can understand, ( he is so tall and dreamy, ahem, at least that is what my brother says) but Meyers? He is and has always been such a whiny little *****. Every role he has ever been has been a whiny little *****. He also appears to be completely incapable of opening his eyes. I just don't get it.

Mostly it's the body. I suppose I could get all critical about various specific features. But overall it's a nice package. As to whiny or not... well, you don't always have to let them talk. :p

His eyes look pretty open, though.

(I liked him in August Rush.) Meant to watch this last season and never got around to it. I had one less Tivo then.... Watched one episode and decided that I hadn't really missed much - I actually liked Jeremy Northam's acting better (although he's gained weight since The Net and Emma so he's lost some eye candy appeal).

I guess I might try onDemand.

Showtime Picks Up The Tudors for Third Season
Production on New Episodes of Henry VIII Drama to Begin June 16 in Dublin
By Anne Becker, Broadcasting & Cable, 4/22/2008

Showtime said Tuesday that it will bring back The Tudors for a third cycle in 2009.

Production on new episodes of the Henry VIII drama is scheduled to begin June 16 in Dublin.

The announcement didn’t come as a surprise, as Showtime entertainment chief Robert Greenblatt has said publicly that writing had begun for a third installment of the series. The show also pulls strong numbers for the pay cable network.

“The Tudors is now a fixture for us at Showtime, and we’re on our way to completing the entire saga of all six wives of Henry VIII,” Greenblatt said in a statement. “We are enormously proud of this show, the extraordinary cast and the production team that recreates the grandeur of the Renaissance year in and year out. There is nothing like this anywhere on American television.”

I've yet to watch the episodes piling onto my NPL (or whatever acronym used for the HR20) and I am not sure if I even want to. So, do I want to?

I really like Rome on HBO so I recorded The Tudors thinking it was a similar show I would like but still haven't gotten around to watching S1 saved up on my Tivo, let alone S2. Hopefully I'll be able to get to it this summer when there really isn't too much else on.
