And that’s what they’ve cut down on a lot. Snide jokes to a coworker are fine.
The actress is off the series for most of this season because of a scheduling conflict with another show that she is doing for Netflix. They haven't said if yes or if no for the third season yet. I imagine it might be something similar to when we had Dr. Pulauski on TNG for the season that Dr Crusher was 'off studying at starfleet".
Also side question.... I didn't catch where Jason "George K." Alexander was in this episode. What part did he play??
He plays the bartender/owner. He was also in last week’s episode.
I recognized his voice immediately and checked the opening credits for his name and sure enough it was there. He must really like Seth to sit through the time it takes to go through makeup just for less than a minute of screen time.
You're going to cite an Internet rumor that you previously derided?
Especially since McFarlane isn't "just another cast member".
He's the showrunner and Sage's Boss.
In the part of my post that you didn't quote:
A preexisting relationship is far less of a sexual harassment issue than someone who may feel pressured to "date" someone who is higher up in the hierarchy.
Alexander is also a huge Star Trek fan (and did in fact appear on an episode of Voyager).
I’m aware of that, but technically this isn’t Star Trek and in Voyager he had very few prosthetics on and was in the entire episode. Here he’s in a full body “rhino” alien mask and he’s only been in 2 episodes a total of around a minute or two. It takes hours to get in and out of those prosthetics. Maybe he filmed them all at once, but otherwise that’s a significant dedication to the show and/or Seth.
The rumor isn't only on IMDB if you look around, and it sounds like there were other complications like her seeing someone else and posting about it.
It sounds like there's a lot more under the covers than a poorly worded IMDB trivia post.
Before this episode aired, I wondered if they replaced expensive CG Yaphit with aliens with cheesy rubber masks. Yaphit was in this episode but had like seconds of screen time.
I did and couldn’t find anything more than maybe they were dating. Maybe. Amazing how they can create and change whole story lines in weeks.
We clearly search differently
I saw references to her posting instagram pix with a supposed new BF in Sept 2018.
Neither of them are apparently a-list enough for people to care but I have suspicion when they broke up and she had an offer on a new show they might have acted like grown ups and moved on in multiple ways.
Unless he's doing a Charlie Sheen, Alexander has Seinfeld money and certainly has his choice in whether or not to take a role.
Something about this must appeal to him.
Maybe he likes the idea of having the makeup put on and looking completely different.
(Or maybe he's just trying to maintain his SAG membership. )
I haven't seen anything that says that Sage is off the show permanently or just temporarily though.
Even the producers are playing coy.
Next episode's credits may give us clue though.
Some actors just like to act.
Seems like people just WANT drama that the actress was dating Seth. Having her leave the show because of this sounds like some kind of lawsuit. I believe the other end where she has scheduling conflict with the Netflix show and they wrote her off for the time being. Why bother giving her one of the better episodes if they wanted to get rid of her because of a dating issue? I do hope they bring her back.
I thought this was another attempt at humor.
More breaks, less time per break.
Total runtime of Orville is about 5 minutes more than most dramas.
When you use Tivo, which way has more commercial interruptions?
It does unfortunately have more interruptions than normal even with limited commercials.
With skip mode I never realized the breaks were shorter, just how many there were. If you had to fast forward or 30skip manually you would see it
I've seen on some NBC shows that when they go into the first commercial break, a voice says something like "The Good Place will return in one minute".
