I found the Andy/Dwight stuff HI-larious.
And I'm sure the Cornell students/alums watching were LOL at all the shout-outs.
I loved the Cornell stuff. I work with a Cornell grad that's scarily like Andy at times.
Creed looked so creepy in his Joker outfit.
I wonder how many people watching that were gonna dress up as the Joker for Halloween started to think twice about that... I bet there will be a few of them out there.
"Let's put a smile on that face!" LOL
Not so much. Dwight says he'll see Andy at Comstock Hall (pdf map). That's a classroom building in the Agriculture school that's fairly remote to where the majority of Cornell students normally go. As part of the Ag school, Dwight might spend time there but Andy (who I think said he was in the College of Human Ecology) might likely never be there (unless he took Ag classes) and may not have ever heard of the place. It would've been better to either mention "Willard Straight Hall" (the major student union building and a funny name to boot) or Olin Library or something.
The acapella groups Dwight listed are entirely fictional (or at least would've been in the early '90s). The real marquee group there is the Cayuga Waiters.
I don't think any Cornell alum could name past college presidents, other than maybe Andrew Dickson White (the first prez) and whoever was president when they attended (Frank H.T. Rhodes for me). But I suppose that's part of the joke.
a blue Prius-driving, 5K running Cornell alum who cringes every time his life coincides with Andy's
andy, is that you?
Sounds like you cringe a lot.
I thought maybe Pam really did lose her ring after she told Jim about the prank. Did she have it on?
Loved the beet-eating scene at the end. As someone who has tried to eat raw beets in numerous ways, I can attest to the fact that they would not taste good if you bit into them raw like that.
i totally didn't get the prank thing... i thought it was gonna be a jim pranking pam bit... but it just became weird and made no sense.
i love darryl! i liked when he was calling someone when michael and holly were freaking out... Please call me back soon... please...
and watching dwight play a normal dude... all cheery and friendly... that was weird funny.
and I liked andy in the cats outfit....
jim: um, you're a cat
andy: yup, close... actually i was going for kitten.
Call me ignorant, but why did Michael and Holly break up?
Seems they like each other a lot and haven't had great relationships ("no, 4 in the last 10 years") so why not try the LD thing?
It's an 8+ hour drive and they just started dating.
I would predict that we see Holly again fairly soon in future episodes. I wonder if Toby will come back in her absence?
Yes, she had it on.
Toby's still in Costa Rica.
I'm a bit surprised by this turn of events. The producers gave Michael what he wanted with a woman who really got him and then take her away from him.
And I'm sorry but Michael's breakdown where he was saying he'd have to go back to Jan was fall down funny.
I hope Holly's stint wasn't just a few episodes; I liked her.
Besides, Michael & Jan dated. Didn't Michael & Holly just have to fill out a form?
"Oh, from the insurance commercials?"
She does clueless very well.
I think he said "we were"
"we were looking for kitten"
He was channeling his inner Trebek.
Eek! They've moved Comstock Hall since the 70's!.
It used to be on the Ag quad (pretty close to Martha Van - the Hum Ec school). Where it is now was intramural athletic fields when I was there - also in the 70's, when Frank Rhodes began.
I only remember a few Cornell presidents (you forgot you also knew T. F. "TeeFey" Crane) but I remember that Frank Rhodes' middle names were Harold Trevor.
PS: I also have a blue Prius...
Five and a half hours.
I used to drive 6 (Norwich, CT to Ithaca) when my wife was still in school.
