My impression is that The Book of Boba Fett will be its own series. I expect season 3 of The Mandalorian to drop in October, followed by Boba Fett in December.

I believe Disney+ will follow the HBO practice of having a new series queued up to air the week after an existing show’s season finishes.

Disney says season 3 is "Christmas 2021".

I think Disney has so many new series planned, that they won't really be able to spread them out so only one is playing at a time.

I think they'll air at the same time.

This is probably answered in the books and animated series, but not really in the movies.

In the movies, Anakin was turned to the darkside by Palpatine, and Palpatine and Vader tried to turn Luke.

My question os, do Jedi turn to the darkside just by doing terrible things, and oops, I'm a Sith now, or do they have to be "officially" turned by another Sith?

Seems like Luke has done darkish things, but is still a Jedi.

My thought on RotJ back when it came out was that the movie shows Luke starting the process of turning into another Darth Vader, but he pulls back in the end (when he's ready to strike down his father, then sees his hand sparking and realizes what he's becoming).

I don't think you have to be (or really, CAN be) turned by somebody else; they just create the situation where you are tempted to make that turn on your own.

And the interesting twist in RotJ is that Luke creates the situation where Anakin is tempted to turn back.

It wasn’t just seeing Luke, but the John Williams music that was so emotional.

I'm talking real life. Crawler at the bottom of CNN days actor who played boba Fett is dead and it wasn't tumerah morrison ( or whatever). Jeremy Bullock was the original actors name from the original trilogy.

These are the three actors who've played Boba Fett:

Daniel Logan played child Boba Fett in "Attack of the Clones".
Jeremy Bulloch (RIP) played adult Boba in "Empire" and "ROTJ".
Temuera Morisson played old Boba in this show (and Jango Fett in "Attack").

Morrison played Boba Fett's father in the prequel movies. Boba Fett is his clone (IIRC, the people who used Dad's DNA to build the clone army for the Republic created Boba Fett for Dad as a reward).

I too am so thrilled I was spoiler-free going into this, I expected a big ending, but holy crap, that's way more than a "big ending"
This was the grand daddy of a mic drop and was worth it, I'm still not over my awe of what they managed to pull off, I'll return to the thread later...

I'm so glad I too was in the "dark" lol

Seeing Luke just crust the Dark Troopers was awesome. I just wish he was more emotional when he sees Grogu. I certainly was!

I’m thinking “The Book of Boba” is season 3 and not a spin-off since it was announced season 3 would be December, 2021, same as Book and also because Mando’s story is basically done. I mean I guess he could go help Bo Katan, but that’s her quest, not his.

I very, very strongly doubt it.

How is Mando's story done? Do you think he came into existence along with Baby Yoda? And now he will just cease to exist? There are TONS of stories to be told!

Yeah, but for 2 seasons, it’s been about him and his quest with Grogu, either to return him as a bounty or return him to a Jedi. The season 1 finale set up his quest to find the Jedi. The season 2 finale had no set up at all for Mando. It did have a setup for Boba though. That and no spin off show for Boba was announced.

Could they send Mando somewhere else and start anew like they did episode 1, season 1? Possibly, but this episode felt like a finale. Plus Mando without Baby Yoda feels wrong.

If I’m wrong, I’ll eat my Baby Yoda Pop figure:

Our Mando will be back for season 3 and beyond. The Book of Boba Fett is something else. Limited run series? Full series? Movie? Something else.
