Aw, hell, I hope this doesn't morph into another Revolution next season.

Aw, hell, almost a year until we find out.

    Soylent Green?

(Yeah, I know they're not eating them, but still).

Sigh... I enjoyed the show but I think that was an awful place for a season cliff hanger.

I don't get why they would need to burn body's for power. Would that even work?

Because they can't get coal/gas to power the plant.

I also got a Revolution vibe. Hopefully that won't be the case.

I'm surprised the captain's wife died. I thought the captain would rescue her at the last minute.

Yeah, my husband and I each felt like the show is heading into a Revolution type plot, too. We're also unconvinced that burning bodies would produce enough power for the scientists' lab, much less that entire oasis of apparent civility.

Not unless you removed all the water first. If bodies could burn producing more energy than they consumed, then people would have to be a LOT more careful with open flames. ;)

I suspect the heating was more about making use of all the heat used to cremate the remains rather than the remains themselves actually producing more heat than was required to burn them. But why let facts get in the way of a story about burning babies to heat hospitals...

Again, they're just using the excess heat from the process, not from the bodies burning. It's the same reason your kitchen gets warm when you bake cookies. The cookies aren't generating heat (even when you forget to take them out and they burn), it's that the oven generates a LOT more heat than what you're using to cook/burn the cookies. It's the same for a crematorium except they are required to cool the smoke before releasing it (unlike your oven at home).

Yeah. It was barely watchable before, and I don't care about the direction they seem to be headed. We will see, but I have little hope.

How else are she and the doc going to get it on in a future episode?

Yeah, it was clear she was gonna be toast. The wife, not the doctor.

I just remembered the creepy feeling from the flashback of the "superior race" children walking down the hall after Dr. Mengele, I mean Vice-chair Granderson explained her mission to her daughter.

Speaking of, where the hell did he think he was going? Walkabout in a country where nothing works, half of the population is dead and who knows where the next food supply is? Stay with the money, dummy!

Yeah but since he is not there when treachery is revealed, he can come back and save the day.

A little weird that [announcer voice] in a world[/] as dangerous as this one, they would let ANYBODY on their ship, much less enough armed people to take it over...

He's going on a journey to discover and reconnect with Tex. He needs to get over the doctor.

That, and the actor probably got cut from the cast to save money.
