Aw, man. I thought they'd somehow save the girl who was sent to the infected camp.

El Toro was an idiot. How was he paying his henchmen?

It might be dumb (again, a lot of dumb is if you understand WHY it's dumb, Naval protocol and so forth) but I find it really entertaining. This past episode had a Lost vibe to it for some reason. Under the Dome got so dumb because the entire plotline was (is? I don't watch anymore) dumb and it got to the point where I just didn't care about the plot or the people. This show, at least now, I tend to like all the characters. Even the mercenary guy wasn't acting like a bad guy this week.

As someone said, it's TV. And basic cable. Realism has nothing to do with it :)

It's not what I was expecting but still entertaining I suppose. For what it actually is.

One thing that used to bug me was the "casual sport camo" shirt one guy is wearing. I thought it was made up for the show, but then I saw a service member wearing one on the news.

(Crap, I can't upload the image).

That guy gets to be different because he's the SEAL. :) If he wore the same outfit then you wouldn't know he's Special. :)

Yeah, I figured he was special. I just didn't know he would be stylish. :)

Is he a SEAL? I thought he was a Marine.

Hrm, I thought they made reference to him being a SEAL at the beginning but maybe he is a Marine. Well, either way he's Special. :)

And needs more airtime, IMO. ;) :D

Well, maybe if they let Rhona Mitra dress in her old Lara Croft outfit to go on an away mission, a deal can be reached. :)

    Miles away...
    The blood of the innocent?

I don't think the rest of the crew could do their job if that were to happen.

As soon as I saw who was going on the mission, I said to myself that the redshirt would die. Nice red herring writers! (no pun intended)

That can be read, and I intended it that way, as I find The Last Ship entertaining also. That's why I keep watching it. If it were a show I've been watching for years and it goes downhill (IMHO) then I find it almost impossible to stop watching, so I just ***** about it. But with a new shows like The Last Ship, I'm not stuck, so if I don't like it, I can stop watching if it's not entertaining.

'dumbest' might not have been the best choice of a word. It's not really dumb. Whodunnit? (any idea if there is going to be a season two? :)) was dumb. TLS just has such great logic and plot holes. I'm not referring to anything that hasn't already been pointed out on these forums.

I'm surprised they didn't save her too.

Pay them? He doesn't need to "pay" them. Making sure that they are not infected and that they are in a position of power relative to the people, and that they have it "easy" would be sufficient (at least for a while.)

I thought it was pretty ridiculous they went back to the camp. Why not just go back to the ship get back up and THEN go back. OK so yeah maybe too late to save the little girl but they are trying to save the world - I didn't buy it.

She'll be the end of everyone. She will get across the river and her father won't be able to resist letting her come home. The End.

Like Laria said, the main objective was to save the girl. Remember how the XO said he had a daughter and asked the Captain about his daughter.

Well, they did say the real prize was her younger sister...
