Sweet! Anything with "McNutty" gets a view from me. Couldn't make it through the Punisher sequel though. Yikes.

I'm tempted to download as well though. BBC America is awful on DirecTV.

BBC America is awful on Comcast too. It's SD and they plaster so much crap on the screen. I might download too.

Why the hell don't they? It is criminal trying to watch Doctor Who and Top Gear in SD.

This, but the subject matter might actually interest me enough to watch despite lack of HD.

Just got my latest bill from Comcast and they are adding BBC America HD :) and Bloomberg HD  on September 20th in the Seattle area (at least the part I live in).

They'd probably just slap an even bigger constant reminder to watch the Graham Norton show on the HD screen.

That's why I watch it in SD and use the "Zoom" button on the Tivo. The quality isn't as good but all the annoying logos and crap are less annoying.

Back to the subject at hand, Romola Garai is hot. Good enough reason to check out this show.

The TiVo guide data shows The Hour as a repeat. Adjust your SP if you had it set for "first run only" like I did and are wondering why it didn't record.

I really enjoyed the first episode. For me, it's Mad Men mates with Rubicon. You have the strong 1950's female character, like Peggy on Mad Men, and McNulty has many of the same traits as Don Draper. Then you have a conspiracy subplot that looks to be as complex as Rubicon. And, the air is as smoke filled as in Mad Men.

I just watched the first episode and was pulled right into it and the world they are creating.

I would add a sense of Hitchcock suspense as well - you know something is coming...

and i dunno what the heck is up with BBC America - almost everything doesn't record if you set it for first run only.

The guide data is often the date of the run in Britain.

Well, I tried to watch this, and the lack of HD was a total distraction. The fact that the show took up about half the screen with bars top and bottom and on each side. It looked like it might be interesting, but I just don't know if it's "watchable". This might be something to look for eventually streaming on Netflix or something.

    BIH DirecTV!!
