Even when I saw Ted Danson being the bartender, I did not think of Cheers. And I watched the entire Cheers series when it was originally broadcast.

When I saw him my first thought was "how ironic to have a recovering alcoholic play a bartender." It took me a couple of minutes to remember that it was his character on Cheers, Sam Malone, who was the recovering alcoholic bartender. Still ironic, I guess.

He's a demon from hell. Being alcoholic is the least of his problems. :D

Yeah, I really wanted to see them do all of them so I hope that happens with the onset of the next season.

Classic having Sam, I mean Michael, behind the bar. :)

The real question: was Sam Malone a demon all along?

Besides the obvious bit of having Michael behind the bar, what I really loved about that scene was that of all the characters, it's the demon architect from the Bad Place giving Eleanor a lesson in morality and ethics.

That, and also Ted's delivery of his lines in that scene really sold how much he'd come to care for the humans, and particularly Eleanor.

Wow, I kept thinking "Hey Sam, where's Diane?" while watching that.. (and yeah, I realize Diane left several seasons in and it ran WAY longer after that...)

I realize, I liked most if not all of Danson's post-Cheers shows (I can think of 2 offhand, I think there were 1 or 2 more), but this one is WAY above those.

Looks like I don't have any NBC sitcoms in my to do list that I can see, but I sure thought I need to pad them to get the very ending.. (and I know for sure I need to pad the Tonight Show to get the very ending. the late night shows always go a tiny bit into the official time slot of the next show)

I'm going to be mad if the last scene in the series is the gang of four getting onto Oceanic 815

My first thought was “Norm!”, and then I asked myself where’s Woody?

Since we are bringing people back from the dead (kind of), how about Coach? He made me laugh so hard-this is one of my fave Coach moments: "Coach answers the phone"
    Hello, Cheers!
    Hold on, I'll check.
Do we have an Ernie Pantuzzo here?
    (Sam yells, "That's you Coach!")
    Speaking!

Now I'm imagining what a conversation between Jason and Coach would be like. :)

I think that was from the very first episode. Sort of a perfect way to introduce us to Coach.

    I too asked "Where's Woody?"

Then I saw Tahani, and almost immediately I had to shift in my seat, because, well, Woody would soon pop up.

I have to be the most dense person ever. Cheers was one of my original favorite comedies as a child and until I read this thread I didn't even put it together. o_O
