There was a point when things were heating up in the church, where I think Thomas said something about how humans were always behaving a certain way, backing up previous encounters with them.

Love your further theory though. Would make for a great continuation of the story line.

This really pissed me off. The special ops unit should have filled that building with CS gas as soon as they had the building surrounded, then charged in and apprehend the ET's and take any out that shoot at you. Instead they sit their, and let the terrorists plot their next move. It would have been better for the story (and logic) if Thomas owned the building and had a secret tunnel or something and a quarter of the ET's escaped.
My outer voice did the same thing. I think my wife was getting annoyed.

I mean you see one bus blow up in front of you and you just keep driving?
You don't stop, turn, or do something?

I prefer the term "hair rippingly stupid" because if you actually care about the show or the characters (or even if you don't), you're ripping your hair out at their stupidity.

The President does know about the phone home thing, right? Not that the whole planet is coming, but that probably someone is coming. It seems a little short sighted to just kill all these guys off. What do we tell them when the mother ship gets here?

Why did Hal Holbrook care so much that the archaeologist saw the chamber? He didn't know what it was anyhow.

As slowly as they age, is it possible that he's really been here thousands of years, and he's just now getting old? Which brings up the question of whether they reproduce. If no one dies for centuries, that planet must really be busting with people.

So you're saying you lost your hair on the previous episodes?

The Hal Holbrook thing seems so obvious to me .. maybe I'm just seeing it wrong.

    (my speculation)
First, he's gotta be "one of them" and he's older than we could possibly imagine (thousands, tens of thousands maybe). Remember the "old" kids, somehow he was taking their blood or "life" and converting it to himself and that was what was keeping him alive.

This episode was terrible, even by The Event standards. Heck, even by NBC Monday standards. So many random, major plot and character shifts were in this episode. The writers clearly were "inspired" by 24 as this show has the president shoveling out more flip-flops than a Hawaiian surf shop. What is the point of going Indy Jones on us with just a few episodes left, anyway?

Yeah, that Apache pilot had obviously never played the Apache video game :D

At least they paired Jason Ritter with a hotter, better actress.

Yeah, he's so old that he's finally nearing the end of their greatly expanded lifespan. I'm not sure if he was "stealing" their youth directly, or if the experiments were meant to find a more permanent solution to his problem. Maybe the half-breeds have some quirky genetic mix that potentially makes their longevity even greater?

Or maybe he's a half-breed himself, the child of an "angel" alien from the distant past (making him a Nephilim?)? And he only got part of the longevity of the aliens? Then he'd be searching for another hybrid with better longevity attributes so that he could replicate their specific DNA mix?

And two of those three we've hated since the first episode and are a large part of the reason nobody is watching this show.

So basically, the only good character left in the show is Leila's dad.
