I doubt that very much. I don't know how he survived, but I'm sure he did. He is, after all, in the title cast!

 

That's what we were led to believe, but in television series like this, you can never tell. All the airline passengers were confirmed dead, and they are all alive now. I too think it was portrayed that he was crushed under the debris of the building, and that's what were are supposed to believe, so I don't believe it.

In the previews it shows him alive and being interrogated by Mr. Security, so he didn't die in the building collapse just like I thought at the time.

 

Of course, he could just be in flashbacks, but the actor tweeted about receiving and reading the Episode 8 script.

 

He yelled at her in Mandarin Chinese after she bumped into him: "Hey, you're not looking [where you're going on] the street!"

Sophia: Excuse me.

That she speaks Chinese might mean that these people have been interfering with human events around the world. On the other hand, it may not mean much since most of us know how to say basic tourist things like "thank you" and "excuse me" in a few languages. However, this being a TV show where they want us to analyze every clue (since they want to be the next "Lost"), I am assuming that her language ability signifies something important.
