"THE DEUCE" Becomes David Simon’s Next Series for HBO

There's only one thing I think of, when I heard the phrase "The Deuce"...and it's not pretty.

 

TERRIBLE name for a show.

 

Darn, and I thought this was going to be a show based on the Rob Schneider character ..

Agreed that it's a horrible name, but the premise sounds interesting. I wonder what the name is a reference to.

 

Franco's playing twins. Idk. Maybe The Deuce is in reference to them?

 

Yeah, it's a David Simon show, so I'll give it a try.

But if it's not good I'm dropping it.

 

Watched Show Me A Hero a few weeks ago. Was not a fan. Will give this a shot but won't slog through if I'm not enjoying it.

Mmm. I have Show Me a Hero cued up but haven't started watching yet. I've been wondering about the lack of buzz surrounding it, given that it is a Simon production. I'll definitely be watching this new series (new name, please?) as Maggie Gyllenhaal is one of my favorites.

 

A lot of people felt The Wire started slow and got better. I loved it from the first scene, but with Show Me a Hero it started out slow but I was still interested. To me it got slower and more depressing until the end. But hey, it's real life.

 

Meh...I'm dropping the deuce...
