The Conners - Season 1 - spoilers

I did not care for the second episode.
I felt Sarah Gilbert got exactly what she wanted - which was to manipulate herself into the lead of the series when she is the weakest of the cast. So far, I am not that crazy about DJ's wife either.

I should mention that I had just watched Juliette Lewis being crazy on the HBO new show Camping, so to have her show up here too - was a little too much Juliette Lewis crazy in one week.

 

It was nice that they gave Johnny Galecki a part time job, especially since he’ll be unemployed soon.

 

Will be gone soon, as has been said very few if any would watch Sara Gilbert show.

Oh man! You said it about Juliette Lewis. I don't know if it was just lately, or when it was that I started finding myself unable to stand her at all, but seeing her on these two shows is making me nauseous. I suppose it might just be the characters she is playing but, either way, enough already!!

 

Isn't Lewis married to her dog. (for Family Guy fans)

 

On one show married to Kaley Cuoco on another Sara Gilbert, verrrry large difference between those two.

Watched 2 ep of Camping. Not liking it so far.

 

Well, she is not Laurie Metcalf or John Goodman but weakest? Lots of weak there. Her siblings are terrible. The kids are meh. And Roseanne herself was basically a walking standup comedian.

 

Yes, I think she is the weakest.
I think Lecy Goranson and Michael Fishman have become better actors than Gilbert.
I think the kid playing the trans kid is a better actor.
I think Emma Kenney (better known from Shameless) is a better actor.

I was just watching an episode of Roseanne this morning on CMT. It was the one where David moved in with the Connors. (S5E9) I can’t believe how young the kids looked.

And it was a pretty funny one.

 

I am very surprised to hear that - I thought all Roseanne reruns were pulled off the air...

 

I did too. I guess somebody didn’t get the message.

 

as of 10/1 CMT started showing reruns of Roseanne

and IIRC TVLand airs them on Saturdays
edit: yup this Saturday from 3AM to 1PM CDT

Yes.

Later episodes are somewhat better according to many.
