Hello All...

Some of you may remember back in May of this year we posted about my wife and I being Executive Producers for an Independent Film that was coming out soon. However we could not share with you fully the trailer nor any other details as we were still searching for the right distributor. Well….The outstanding group behind the movie has teamed up with Vertical Entertainment and are officially launching on January 25, 2019. For those of you that may remember, the date is close to the actual anniversary date of the actual disaster.

We can now share the official trailer and you can even, right now, pre-purchase the movie on iTunes so you can watch it as soon as it is available! Release date is set for January 25, 2019 in select theaters and on iTunes. We are letting you know now for two reasons. One, we are really excited to have been able to help out such a great team led by Nathan VonMinden, or as he would tell you, his wife actually. :) (Kind of sounds familiar doesn't it? Ha!) And Two, if you Pre-Order to watch it, it will greatly help our listing inside iTunes as the movie will show up higher in rank for upcoming movies based on interest and it will thus help us and the movie!

So you may notice a big change. It is no longer called "Angry Men". The official title is now, "The Challenger Disaster".

Please use the link below to view the trailer directly on YouTube so then you can also give it a Thumbs Up for us and comment if you so wish.

We hope you feel the same about the movie as we do. We are super excited to bring this to all of you now and are even more excited for the actual team that brought it all together as the time has finally come for all the hard work to be shown to the world!

For those of you interested in pre-ordering the movie WE REALLY APPRECIATE IT! We're hoping to break into the TOP 10 rankings on iTunes!

So please, and yes, we are groveling, pre-order it as we can't be more excited for the world to see it and learn what actually took place behind this terrible catastrophe which could have been averted!

Any chance that this will also eventually be available through Amazon?

Text removed as asking for thread title correction apparently annoyed other forum members here.

Thanks all. For a low budget independent movie, I am very proud of the team and what was made. I will admit, the use of a fog machine to give it more of an eighties office look, this is actually a cinematographer technique, was kind of over done in a few scenes. But oh well, it still all came together. I will say the movie made my wife Brenda cry even despite knowing what was going to happen.

The music scored for the movie was done via live orchestra and even had a song written for the movie that is played as things are bring brought together.

Yes, Dean was totally great to agreed to sign on and so was Glenn who I really like.

Looking forward to hearing what you thought after the movie comes out. And to those that don't use iTune, I don't either, it surely will come out in other formats and services. But that is not up to us, it is in the hands of Vertical Scope, the distributors.

:) (The original title was "Angry Men"). That is Nathan, the director/writer introducing him. Interesting side note...Jose, one of the actors, owns the company where I host my web servers. (Like this site.) That is how I found out about the movie and got involved. Jose is an aspiring actor who has a small part.

Thanks, while I'm happy to get it from iTunes, I'd prefer Vudu if possible. When it shows up for order there, I'll try to remember to get it there too (probably going to leave the pre-order at iTunes as well)

This is awesome, David. I saw the Space Shuttle Challenger take off live from NASA space center in Florida on it's maiden voyage in 1983. I was so excited when Christa McAuliffe was going to be going up, followed the story, etc. When the disaster happened in 1986, it really affected me. Pre-ordered and can't wait to see the movie

Pre-ordered because it's an important missing piece in the available space program movies/shows. You making a Columbia movie too?

I'd like to see a full mini-series on Gemini and something on the space shuttles BEFORE the Challenger disaster. Start that movie with 'we need something reusable' and end it with the success of STS-2 which proved we CAN reuse stuff.

If space stuff in general interests you, then you may want to look for this (available via Amazon Prime Video, for free if you are an Amazon Prime subscriber)

I caught it the other night and it was pretty good. As you noted, I'd love to see something similar for the Shuttle program and other space program projects and missions.

I remember watching this in school. I was in like 1st or 2nd grade I think. We were watching the shuttle take off on TV and the teacher was so excited because of the teacher on the shuttle. And then it exploded and she immediately shut off the TV and started to cry. We actually got sent home early that day.

I didn't mind that name for it though would admit that it did make me think of the classic film 12 Angry Men.

I expect that @David Bott and his partners probably had to work more than a little bit to come up with a name though. At this point so many names have been used along the way that not duplicating another name can't be all that easy, and finding a name that, as @hefe notes, "connects" with the potential viewers can't be that easy. You've gotta have something that makes potential viewers interested as soon as they hear the title and yet can't waste too many characters on it since people's attention spans are so short they won't remember what they heard if the name is too long { looks in general direction of The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford and wonders how many people skipped it just because the name was so long }
