Awesome. Hopefully Blu-ray shows up for preorder soon too, but nice to see you are getting exposure in the market. Hopefully it leads to lots of orders and viewings.

LOL...You had to image my reaction to seeing "DVD". I was like...Oh come on! We shot it in 5K at let they could have released the Blu-ray at the same time. But at least it it starting to get listed etc.

Wow, so it sounds like you all could possibly get it out in 4K Blu-ray later too? If so, very cool. I'd definitely prefer that over standard Blu-ray and DVD, but will start with the streaming copies first.

Were you trying to think ahead in shooting in higher res or was that just the equipment that was most prevalent? (I'm thinking back on earlier times when it was tough to find HD content compared to SD because of the limited amount of HD equipment that was available and the costs involved in upgrading that equipment that kept many broadcasters from rushing to upgrade.)

It's just want is used these days. We used RED cameras which are kind of an industry standard I guess to some degree. Seeing it is an independent movie, I am not sure it would get the 4K treatment for release unless it does really well. Lions Gate is doing the format versions and mastering for the different version releases. We don't have much say now what happens with how it gets out into the market. Thats for the distributor to handle and what they get paid for. We were happy that Vertical Entertainment had an interest in the movie to submit an offer. They only handle a few movies a month and they have handled some good titles.

I think that's a smeek as that was noted a few messages back. That said, something else I noticed as I went to make purchase from Vudu this morning is that the title is sporting a banner that says "In Theaters". If it's in theaters then congrats to all involved and hopefully it makes some waves on the big-screen and not just the screens in homes.

Got the same notice here, woo-hoo!

LOL....I know. It is not a call we make on how it gets into what format where/when, that is all handled by the distributor.

I don't know if you have any insight into what theaters they are putting it in, but here is a good place here:

I sat and watched it this evening. (Also gave it 5 Star rating on Vudu)

It was very good. Hard say "enjoyable" simply because of the subject matter and the remembrance of the loss and tragedy that occurred. It was certainly fascinating to have that "in the room" feeling during the argument/discussion with the engineers.

Congrats again to all of the people involved in the film.

I was thinking this morning that I hope that the film is a financial success and does very well on sales and rentals, but I would also really love to see this one become something that is available free in the Amazon Prime video library (as an example) where it will pick up additional exposure and help serve to educate people on the importance of listening to the experts when they tell you NOT to do something and that it is too much risk.

I'm glad that NASA did learn lessons after Challenger, but sad that years later another crew paid the ultimate price and showed to a large extent just how lucky we had been in the many previous launches, any of which may have suffered a similar fate.

Space flight is risky, but I'm glad that we do it and strive to keep exploring and learning. Doing it as safely as we can should always be key, but over time it seems that we relax in the safety area and worry too much about the financial aspects and reducing the costs. :(
