If there was only a way to get this trash out of the guide...
I've read on these forums that getting Google to approve third party driven Android TV UIs is tough. I'm hoping Tivo+'s purpose is a way for them to get a Tivo driven Android TV UI, similar to the firestick having its Prime driven Android UI. If we don't get a new app platform soon, consumer Tivos are going to go the Blockbuster route on us.
There is but it isn’t for everyone. Look at the “TiVo Inserting Short Adverts” thread.

Downgrade to TE3, before it's too late.
Personally speaking, I’d choose ditching TiVo completely before downgrading back to TE3. It’s all just such a shame.
Ironic, since I'd ditch TiVo if they ever forced me to upgrade to TE4.
I get it. We all have different setups, different priorities, different tolerance levels, and different dealbreakers. Thankfully we all have choices.
Indeed. I actually just bought a used Roamio and it came with TE4 on it. I am in the process of trying to downgrade it to TE3, but it's not going well. So far the downgrade process has failed 3 times.
You know the time us coming where TE4 is all you have access to. Just like renting a box from the cable company.
I feel like that day has already arrived.
Does it reload TE4 each time or does it refuse to start the rollback?
I did not try a Clear Everything and Delete to get the TOS to work.
It wasn’t worth my time or effort on that long shot, with a payoff that I didn’t really care about.
I guess they want us to live with this service that won’t work on our devices.
The first time it seemed to work and booted up into guided setup, but after going through guided setup it was still on TE4. I've tried it 4 more times since and after a few hours of the downgrade screen circle spinning it just gives up and goes back into TE4 without even rebooting. I'm going to call TiVo and see if there is a way they can force it to downgrade from their end when it connects to the TiVo server.
So many missteps on their part. It’s a sad joke. If they can’t get it to work on our devices they shouldn’t force it into our menus and force its advertising upon us. It’s gross and it’s pathetic.
As I explore my other options, every time I see any mention of the broken, useless ridiculousness that is “TiVo+” on any of my screens, all I think is “another nail in the coffin.”
Tivo+ is nothing more than another medium to sell advertising. It's an embarrassment. I can only assume they are desperate.
And/or, wisely looking for other sources of revenue, as it should be doing. (TiVo has toyed with and employed ads for more than 10 years, between its Showcase section and its pause ads.)
But, the trick is doing it well, and limiting any customer alienation. That hasn't worked so well for TiVo lately.
My first thought when seeing the OP describe Tivo+ as The Biggest Fail of all Time - to the original poster: You must be new here.
It's certainly a fail. But for 'biggest', in the history of Tivo, it's got real competition.
A Tivo does what a Tivo was designed to do spectacularly well. They've *never* had good luck bolting other things to the side of it though. And the line of failed attempts is pretty long.
Pre-roll ads, guide ads and whatever else they come up with = Hydra.
OP should change the title to Hydra is the biggest fail for Tivo.
There are quite a few things I like a lot about Hydra, that make TE3 look like an interface from the early 2000's by comparison. So I wouldn't call Hydra "the biggest fail" by any stretch of the imagination.
Please remember it’s TiVo+ that’s the biggest fail. Hydra does indeed have some very nice relevant features..
