And who says what the time frame is. Did we see a calendar?
Not to mention, not all people are nerdy about the same things. It's within the realm of possibility that Howard may simply not be up with various cell phone technologies. Given that he's a mechanical engineer, I'll grant it's not likely... but still possible.
I'm very much a nerd and a software developer (mostly Windows, a bit of Linux and Android on occasion), and I had no idea about hands free Siri. I haven't had an Apple product since my old iPod... 4th generation, 5th gen, something like that, pre iPod touch. I don't like the way Apple ties you in to their ecosystem of products, so I don't really keep up with all the changes to iOS.
Because of the Thursday Night Jaguars game being broadcast locally, all the Prime Time shows were shown after 1 am. Unfortunately, even with THAT, the timing was off and all my shows ended 15 minutes or so before they were over. I, apparently, do not watch whatever follows Big Bang so I didn't get the beginning of it in the next recording.
I see it's not on Hulu, is there another place where one could legitimately watch it and see the rest of the show?
CBS All Access has it, but you'd be better off buying it in iTunes or similar. Although I think CBS All Access has a one week free trial.
"Life in Pieces". Very funny show, give it a try. Like most sitcoms, first couple episodes were feeling their way thru the characters, but it has grown into a *very* funny show.
Especially true for a show that is driven totally from the personalities like Life in Pieces is. No whacky situations. Mostly people just acting and reacting.
You can stream it from CBS.com in the USA. You have to have adblock turned off.
I'll admit it. When my wife and I first started dating way many years ago (we've been together 35 years now), I managed to get the day wrong too so this part of the episode was very funny for me now that the embarrassment has finally faded)!
I was thinking it was 6 days before my brother's birthday which is on December 16th when it was really 10 days before on December 6th. No she will never let me forget it and in fact picked our wedding day to help me remember (June 12th so 6/12 and her birthday is 12/6).
Of course, then you would have to remember your anniversary.
True but they kind of help remembering each other now.
I got a good LOL when Leonard came out in the orange negligee! And when he first brought it up and she instantly pointed out how she never told anyone that, but she did put it in her journal.
It's fun watching the Amy/Sheldon dance. It's a bit sad, but there's no way they're not getting back together, so I never feel too bad. The show's getting long in the tooth, so I imagine that when they decide the season they're filming is the final one, it will involve their engagement and subsequent marriage. That's my prediction, in any case. Oh, and also that Raj settles down too. I think all the nerds getting married off seems like the kind of series ending they'd go for.
To be fair, for "Hey Siri" to work up until recently the iPhone had to be plugged in.
A couple of months ago it was updated to be "always listening" whether or not the phone was plugged in and voice aware as they joked about in this ep.
I thought only the 6s and 6s Plus ones do that.
My wife and I were watching it with her cousins, whom we were visiting. When Elon Musk came on, I went, "Whoa, Elon Musk!" All three of them went, "Who?" I paused the DVR and told them that he was an billionaire internet entrepreneur who'd gone on to found Tesla (and had to point out that that was high-end all-electric cards) and SpaceX (and had to point out that it was a private space company that is now used to, among other things, get supplies to the International Space Station). I un-paused it and Sheldon said Elon's name and went on to say he was a fan of Tesla and SpaceX and my wife's cousin said to me, "Boy, this show really is up your alley, isn't it?"
Yup. Software developer, electronics enthusiast, scifi & fantasy fan and all-around nerd. That's me!
Howard, not Sheldon.
How do you expect a nerd to keep up on social details.
That was a perfect example of a scene that's only made funnier by knowing exactly where it's going to go. " Time for Howard to do an impression! "
That's easy: check the engraving in your wedding band.
