May the 4th be with you!

Is there enough to bother talking about in an animated Star Wars series? Let's find out!

Double Hell yeah. Love the 99 guys. I recognized Caleb right away. And I have a sneaking suspicion about Omega.

Do you need to have seen Clone Wars to follow Bad Batch?

Watch the first 4 episodes of Season 7 of 'Clone Wars' . This is where they (the Bad Batch) had their story arc within 'Clone Wars'

Then you can if you want watch the last 4 episodes of season 7 of 'Clone Wars' if you want to see the lead in to "Order 66"

Maybe not the whole Clone Wars, but it seems there will be references back to people and places that were in the series, and the first 3 movies. I loved the animated flashback to what happened just before Order 66 in Revenge of the Sith, and the animated version of Palpatine declaring the creation of the Empire.

I'm trying to remember. In one of the many retcons of the OT, did they go back and redub the Stormtroopers voices to give them the same voices as the clones? Or did they not and go through with the conscripting. Maybe it was only Boba Fett?

By the time of A New Hope all the clones were replaced by conscripted and volunteer soldiers. There weren’t any clones left at that point, at least not in the Empire army.

I always thought when Leia said “aren’t you a little short to be a stormtrooper, it was because they were all supposed to be the same size

    But I guess not.

Tarkin doesn't like clones. With conscripts, they could still have a minimum height requirement.

For those asking about needing to see the Clone Wars first, the deserter clone and his wife from Friday's episode were first introduced in a Clone Wars episode. It looks like there will be a number of callbacks to that show. Makes sense since the show runner for this show is the same as the Clone Wars.

If you watch some of the YouTube breakdowns of each episode, you learn some good information if you didn't watch all The Clone Wars episodes.

I liked the show. But: clones were slaves. I never understood why they went that route. In the Star Wars' universe: How do clones change sex and skin changes, too? Likely just to get more viewers.

I loved the cartoon Star Wars Rebels series. Better than the movies. .. So, The change re Kanan Jarris's beginning - I liked the comic book version better I think.

Not sure what you mean by changing skin and sex, but the Bad Batch are a bunch of genetically defective clones which is why they look different from the other clones.

As for Omega, if you have cloning tech, it's a simple matter of adjusting the chromosomes to produce a female clone.

I am not sure if Omega is someone who we've met in the future, but I think it's far too early for her to be Rey. Rey is about 20 years old max in TFA, which takes place 30 years after TRotJ. Bad Batch takes place about 20 years before ANH, so unless she ages very slowly, she'll be around 50 - 60 at the time of TFA.

You're probably right - they might have different cloning technology in that galaxy far away, even a long time ago.
