Agree 100%. Give it a good timeslot and it performs. Stick it on Friday and it tanks.
Why does timeslot matter? Are there really that many people still watching live television? I don't know a single person watching live television anymore... Even my completely non-technical, non-gadgety friends and neighbors have been "forced" onto DVR offerings from their cable and satellite providers.
Maybe the Silicon Valley is a bubble... I don't know... I just have had the perception that a majority of viewers are time shift viewing...
I am not challenging your statement... Rather, I am challenging my perception of reality...
you'd be surprised - not only at the number of live viewers, but also the number of homes with dvr's where many in the home don't know how to fully use them, outside pause and rewind - yes, it still amazes me, too, and we live in an area also rich in tech & engineers.
The overnight Nielsen ratings reported are usually live plus same day. They do also track live plus 3, plus 7, and so on, but the live plus same day are still the most used.
Amazing ratings for The Amazing Race 30’s premiere – reality blurred
I think the fact that the ratings for this season improved significantly over the ratings for the previous seasons shows that time slot does matter.
For some reason my TiVo never recorded a single episode of this season. I didn't worry about it much because I had CBS All Access, but it was weird.
maybe because of this:
The Amazing Race
That would do it. Like I said, it wasn't a priority puzzle for me to solve since I had other options for viewing.
Spoiler: Jess and Cody
They got engaged a couple of weeks ago. So definitely more than a showmance. I wish them the best.
Yes, Henry and Evan are dating. I think I heard her call him Hon a couple of times, but maybe it was Hen.
She called him "Hen" a lot. I never heard a term of endearment from her.
I didn't.. Ugh, that would be something that would be annoying for the rest of your life..
I can kind of identify with her. I am a very analytical, left brain type of person. My SO and I are not overly affectionate. I have joked that if we ever went on the race we would have to practice using “babe” every other sentence. It would really be unnatural for us to start using terms of endearment all the time like some teams do.
I liked Cody and Jessica and was very happy to see them win.
Also, both they and Team Extreme have said that Evan was the main reason why Henry and Evan were treated as outsiders. There were many tasks early on where teams worked together to complete tasks and they bonded over that. Henry often wanted to work with the teams, but Evan pulled him back and kept them separate from the others. Some of the teams formed close bonds as a result, Henry and Evan just created a distance between themselves and the other teams. Jessica said that Evan was quick to accept help from other teams but didn’t want to reciprocate.
Other than the episode that knocked out the racers, the only time I can clearly remember Evan saying no to cooperate with another team was when in Zimbabwe when she and the Twin finished the Rhino Track tour and was about to do the puzzle part of the challenge, Jessica and the skiier were there struggling with the puzzle part and they immediately asked Evan's team if they wanted to team up, Evan said she wanted to try it first before teaming up. It seemed to really upset Jessica, especially when Evan and the twin quickly completed the puzzle. After that Jessica seemed really anti Yale
To me it seemed she talked the Team Extreme and Indy Car while riding the transport at the start of Leg 8 to U-Turn Yale (since she couldn't do it because they used theirs). Indy Car did U-Turn team Yale, but Jessica & Cody also got U-Turned by 'Lucas & Brittany' and Jessica just whined about how unfair it was, remember she made the decision to U-Turn violinists in the 5th leg.
At least that's what I saw when I watched it. I probably wouldn't have soured on their team so much if she didn't whine about being U-Turned and just admitted it's just part of the game, I mean she used it and pushed the idea onto 2 others teams to use it on a team she didn't like.
I was rooting for Team BB the whole time. Cody is a beast and Jessica is extremely pleasing on the eyes
I think she's kind of odd looking, you must like fake boobs? I was rooting for them too, the never argued or seemed to get frustrated with each other.
I second the “we don’t see everything” post from earlier. All 3 teams disliked Evan. That can’t all be Jessica nor from that one incident. Why wouldn’t the teams side with Evan and dislike Jess?
Cliques are always formed on TAR. Besides those 3 teams, it seemed like no other team had issues with Yale. Jess had issues with both Evan and Brittany. Indy car and Team Extreme both just didn't want Yale in the finale because they made friends with themselves and BB. Jessica is the denominator.
But I agree, we don't see everything.
I have seen on numerous websites that Jess does NOT have fake boobs.
The bolded part ALWAYS happens on TAR.
