Boy, that discussion wouldn't last long here.
Agreed, I chose not to share my personal beliefs and just focused on the fact that they clearly are nice ladies and love God.
It was surely the first lesbian kiss since this was the first lesbian team on the show. I believe that some of the gay teams have been shown kissing over the years, and no one seemed to mind. Also, no one cared when Chip/Reichen were billed as "married" a few years ago when gay marriage was a hot topic so no one should care about the married ministers.
Asian dad just needs to let go. He still wants to be the dad in a situation where he just needs to be a team member. C'mon pops, time to start treating your daughter like an adult.
That's pretty much what I was thinking. We're pretty much past the point (extremists excluded) of out rage at this stuff. It's not what I believe in but as long as they are happy and not hurting anyone else.
Having kids will do that to you. I just want my kids to be happy and an extension of that is wanting all people to be happy/content and not hurting anyone else.
GB the children.
That's a good point. I know that when I travel with my 15 YO oftetimes I treat him like a travel companion rather than my kid. He often makes better decisions than I and I trust his judgment. I would love to do this race with him when he's old enough.
Has there ever been a Mother/Son team on TAR (excluding the family edition season)?
Maybe so, I hope so - but I'm not 100% optimistic.
My concern about reaction in some parts of the country was not just because they were a lesbian couple - they are lesbian MINISTERS. The combination of both could cause some to come unglued.
Even in the past year or two, a gay scene that was frankly pretty tame caused at least one ABC affiliate (in Jerry Falwell's hometown, natch) to pre-empt an episode of a popular show.
I just wondered if the combination of the women being lesbians AND ministers would rile some of these folks up.
Me? I don't care. They were a nice couple, though honestly, a bit too nice and leisurely in how they approached this show.
I think there was a college professor mom and gay son combo.
The Lesbians get eliminated in the Netherlands and NOBODY goes for the OBVIOUS joke?
Now THAT'S Funny!
Otherwise known as "Patrick-and-his-Mommy".
Oh no...there's always people that mind...
GB Havana Brown, TCF is with you and your son. You should apply...TODAY. That is so cool that you have a Wii Code. I don't even have or know my Wii Code but your son must think you are a cool mom!
Thanks. I heard him on the phone with friend the other day telling her that he couldn't go out Saturday night because I had a Dodgeball game to go to. He that it was strange. He also told her I'm soooo old. Late 30's! Their parents are 40's and almost 50!!! His friends aren't used to a parent playing sports or playing with the kids.
All the kewl kids keep their wii codes on their cell phones.
Aw man, I'm so up to my knees in work and trying to get out of debt that I'm just happy to play Rayman and Mario Kart with my wife (The Lovely Jessica) for an hour on Saturday nights that I can't devote time to get my Wii code set up. Alas, maybe this Holiday Season I will have time and when I do, we'll look you up and compare scores/miis.
Sounds like you have a fine young man there, HB.
Stop Mother / Step Son Team?
I don't think that counts.
ETA: Well, the profile says he is 26 so maybe she is the biological Mother. Isn't that a strange way of putting it thought, that she has been married to his Father?
Are they claiming that that kid is older than 34? I thought he looked/acted early 20s. Does that mean the dad had an affair?
