I'm really trying to give him the benefit of the doubt, but just as you think he's not a bad guy...his mouth opens, and it sounds like a cry for help. Or attention. Or just a cry.

    Hah!

As Phil started describing their trip prize, I kept thinking..."yeah, a trip for two IF THEY STAY TOGETHER!"

They're OK at this stage of the race, but again, they very much seem to be one of those teams who are all roses and smiles if they're doing well, but fall apart if even small things start going wrong.

There's very little "scheming" strategy that works against other teams on TAR, as a rule, but I can't help but wonder if a team can push Ken and Tina behind them if they remind Tina that Ken slept around on her.

It would seem to be the potential equivalent of a "Yield".

I felt bad for the girl who fell off the bike. That looked like it really hurt. It also looked like something I would do. At one point I saw Sara riding her bike without a helmet and I was surprised they let her do that!!!

Someone else had mentioned in a previous week that the brother/sister team had an icky vibe kinda like Blake & Paige in a previous season. I see it now.

The guy is just as insecure as can be. The fact that he was whining (in the first episode) about his girlfriend talking to other teams instead of him was just insane. I'd be curious to hear what she sees in him. I'm sure it doesn't have anythying to do with his Pebbles Flintstone hair style. :)

I've noticed it too. Actually the brother is throwing off some big-time control freak vibes, at least to me. The sister just seems to be a drama queen.

I'll say it again, and I say it every season, to get offended that another team is thinking of yielding (or whatever) your team, or even if they do, is just plain whining and complaining. It's part of the game. Deal with it.

I get the impression that Starr and her brother might actually have the same taste in partners as it were, i.e. They both like Boys.

2 things I am really liking about this season-

we don't seem to be spending 10 minutes every episode showing teams begging airline reps for tickets for "oversold" flights when we all know they will get on. This episode and, I think last episode, it has just been a few minutes of the teams sorting out the best flight and then off they go.

I was surprised that they were allowed to start to the "match the pattern with the dancer" task in the dark. I was fully expecting a "Mt. Eden opens at 6 am" sign. I know there will inevitably be bunch up points as the race continues, I just hope its a trend that they will occasionally surprise us like that

With all the people complaining about the bunch up at the airport and everyone being on the same flight, I full expected them to get to the marina for the gordian knot and have to wait until 8 a.m. or something. I will never understand these teams that complain when their lead from the previous leg evaporates. They need to realize that it's a series of individual races and at some point in nearly every leg, the entire field is going to be tied.

Since they described the knot as a "Gordian Knot", I think they should have had some sort of sword handy for anyone who recognized the reference to find and use to cut through the knot and move on.

You might have to explain what a Gordian Knot" is. I'd have to check Wikipedia myself.

Well, that would have been the beauty of it. Those who know the legend would look for a way to cut through the knot. Everyone else would sit down and unravel it.

I felt stooopid when my 16 year old knew exactly what it was and explained it to me. I guess it helps when he's named after Alexander the Great. :D

So, I have a question now that I know what a Gordian Knot is, I have to ask what it has to do with New Zealand. Did Alexander spend a summer in New Zealand one year?

Was the actual knot a monkey's fist, which could be associated with sailing nd thus the marina?
