No renewal yet but the feeling is it's likely to be renewed. The producers have moved to pick up the options for starring actors Jason O'Mara and Stephen Lang and they are said to be shopping for additional (hopefully better) writers.

William Gray and Zerna Sharp have passed away, unfortunately, but I would think that any first grader who has mastered their style would represent an improvement in the show.

I can't imagine this will really get picked up. It was getting beat by CBS reruns.

It's supposed to be doing good overseas.

And domestically, it still gets a lot of "if only this show was actually good" buzz. So FOX may go, "OK then, let's make this show actually good."

Kill off the two older Shannon kids and save a few bucks. Horribly painful deaths would be welcome.

Then it's not a "family drama" any more (and from the sounds of it, you would think half of the viewers watch it just for that and wouldn't care one bit if the dinosaurs were done by hand puppets).

    Besides...
OOPS - didn't realize this might be read by someone who hasn't seen the season finale yet; better put this part in a Spoler...
obviously they killed off the son's 2149 girlfriend so they can make the relationship between him and Skye a selling point in the second season.

That cracked me up...all season they've been building towards this beautiful reunion, and then it turns out to be a Bambi Meets Godzilla moment. :D

Easily done. Anytime a scene requires expensive new sets or costly stunts, just have Jim lose consciousness and Elisabeth can describe what happened to him at the hospital bed when he wakes up.

hah . Like the cutaway in Family Guy about the low budget movie - "Are we going to take the helicopter?? No, no, it's a nice day. let's just walk."

Those things aren't incompatible. Writers work cheap. :D

I mean, seriously, a lot of the best SF I've seen has been very low-budget. It's not about the effects. (Well, for some people it seems to be. But those people are idiots.)

They could cut the budget. They keep it in Hawaii or where ever they film it and make it more of a survival program with conflict with Phoenix and the Sixers.

I appear to be amazed. Never would have expected this to make it. But, for those who like it, an early (perhaps) Christmas gift.

I caught part of an interview today about the new media landscape and the guy mentioned "TN." He noted that not only do the nets just look at viewer ratings, but also other possible revenue streams such as Netflix, iTunes, etc. as a basis for a series renewal.

I guess I'll try to catch up now. I bailed after the first two weeks just because I was convinced it would never get renewed.

Keep the older daughter, she's a cutie and 18 before I get the pedo bear alert. Tyler is kind of a throw away character.
