I heard on TV this morning that Ted was replacing Laurence Fishburne as supervisor on CSI. Umm, I don't think Laurence was ever a supervisor. I wonder how Ted's character will fit in with Catherine.

That sounds like the TV reporter just messed up in the summarization. Here is what I just read:

"Danson, who fills the slot left by Fishburne in May, will play the new CSI supervisor who is joining the team from a crime lab in Portland. He joins them as they are still grappling with the professional and personal fallout from last season's take-down of serial killer, Nate Haskell."

I quit watching when Petersen left.

I'll definitely tune in for Danson. Enjoyed him since I was a kid.

Is he going to be as lovable as he was on Becker? :D

I won't be watching CSI but I'm glad that Danson will still be doing Bored to Death on HBO. I love that show. Becker reruns are available on the Reelz channel currently.

+1 I left a little bit earlier than that, but having Fishburne in it, didn't draw me back in, Danson will.

If he's one-tenth as good as he was on "Damages", I'd even watch. And I hate the CSI shows...

Agreed. He is/was unbelievably good in that show. In fact the whole cast was.

I was gonna say this... I've always been OK with him over the years. Ambivalent I guess would be the right word... but after Damages I'm fully on board. He was epic during the first season. I never watched CSI but was curious how they'd handle the exit of the lead character so I watched that one seaosn building up to Grissom's exit and then I think I watched MAYBE two episodes w/ Fishburne and it was like an assault on my senses. It was just terribly done.

Classic example of why you shouldn't put a major movie star in a leading role of an existing show yet in an entry level position. It just didn't work because they billed him as the lead, and he's the biggest star in the cast, but his character wouldn't merit any discussion outside of that.

Ted Danson can do dark and he can do humor so hopefully he does a lot of dark humor and freshens the show up a bit.

As long as he still does Bored to Death, and I don't have to watch CSI, I'm cool with it.

He'd fit right in. Because they all know everything. And so does he!

Wasn't Marg Helgenberger leaving, too? Did she change her mind?

I'm so glad that I canceled all the CSI shows last year. Haven't really enjoyed Marg in anything since Fire Down Below.

I think she was planning on leaving after last season, but decided to come back. I think she did negotiate to do less episodes, though.

Noooooo! First Liz Vassey, now Marg Helgenberger. Well at least Jorga Fox is still there.
