It is way better today than ever before, in my opinion.

I updated my Roamio a few weeks ago and I'm happy with it. And I'm the sort who would happily nuke my entire drive full of DVRed shows in an instant if I didn't like it.

I'm enjoying it. Wife hated it initially but has warmed up to it since I've figured out the learning curve for her. It's gotten much better with each version and more goodies keep getting added.

It's getting better all the time (and some people liked it when it first came out). With the currently-occurring update, full commercial Autoskip (look, Ma and Pa, no hands!) for the TiVo-curated SkipMode shows.

The remaining bigger deficits that can decide some people, as compared to TE3: no full Live Guide; no PC -> TiVo box transfer capability, and inter-TiVo box transfers must be done via TiVo Online (i.e. can't be done on the boxes themselves); and TiVo Suggestions largely is broken (as of a year+ ago: being worked on).

I am glad I waited just for the wife acceptance factor - but I don’t mind it.

TE3 was getting really dated and, while I don’t agree with all the design decisions in TE4, it is a fresh approach.
