Have been using TDT with VRD4 for years on Win7-64bit to edit and archive TiVo recordings -- without commercials. Been very happy with useability and results -- especially VRD -- love it!. Switched to MAC and looking for an editor as user-friendly and effective as VRD -- no luck so far.

On MAC, iMovie and Handbrake will not recognize .TiVo files; Toast 11 will not accommodate easy commercial clipping.

Just downloaded KMTTG and will play with that, but still looking for a MAC OSX equivalent to VRD. Emailed Dan at VRD but never got a reply.

Would LOVE to see a MAC version of VRD, but in the meantime, any recommendations/ideas??

Dan has previously stated that VRD should run under VMware Fusion, but it's not supported. Fusion 4 is cheap because it's now licensed per household not per computer.

So you might try that route. Then in order to be legal you need a version of Windows. But you might already own an old "retail" one, which you could use. You might not legally be able to use some "OEM" type Windows licenses except on the computer they were originally licensed on.

VRD purportedly runs under Windows XP, so you might be able to pick up a cheap copy of an older version of the Winblows OS on somewhere like fleabay.

VirtualBox is free. I dunno how it deals with VRD, though.

I use VRD with Parallels which works fine.
OSX has no equivalent to VRD, sadly.
