tcd649180 versus tcd649080 ???

    Which is the better series 2 dual tuner ???

    tcd649180 or tcd649080 ???

    If they have never been modified, the only difference is the hard drive size. The 180 is 180 hours, and the 080 is 80 hours. I'd rather have the larger hard drive.

    Assuming you are looking at used units, if the hard drive has been swapped out for a larger one, then the original model numbers just tell you it is a Series 2 dual tuner.

    Yep, except for the capacity of the stock hard drive, they are identical.

    No, you'd need a digital converter box with Series 2 DT. And, in turn, they become single tuner models.

    And that is for a cable digital converter.

    For OTA, the Series 2 DT models do not support OTA at all, to comply with FCC rules (which came into effect Feb, 2007), in which a device which can tune OTA, must have a digital tuner. TiVo skirted that by making it cable or other pay services only.
