Schedule something at the same time with higher priority?

But that doesn't suspend recordings, just replaces them with other ones.

Dont assume too much about his question. He may want to suspend recording of a specific show and my suggestion would do just that.

Now that I think about it you can suspend all recording by disconnecting the RF input since it will detect there is no video and stop recording.

So, we need the OP to explain what he is trying to suspend. :)

I agree. Considering his post count though I doubt we'll ever know what he was talking about

I think that the OP decided to suspend posting instead.

I'll reserve judgment on whether the OP is a one post wonder until 24 hours has passed.
    In about 30 minutes. :)

    Time's up.

One way to stop recording is to change the channel.

Another way is: arrow right, select, arrow down, select

    Another way is:
    REC, arrow down, select

But these are ways to STOP recordings, he asked for SUSPENd recordings.

I took this to mean he is going on vacation and doesn't want to record SP, etc. while gone; therefore my first suggestion "Pull the plug"

You could open your season pass and write down all the details of the show you want to temporary suspend, then delete the season pass. When you return from vacation or whatever that is, you can add the show back to your season pass.
We could make a suggestion to TiVo to add a feature with a checkbox for "Hold" to suspend in Season pass.

Or use the TivoWebPlus module that lets you create a backup of your season passes so restoring it would be faster.

This thread has been one of the more interesting ones in the past few days. I like how there were so many different correct answers to the original question ;)

If someone is going on vacation, and doesn't want the TiVo recording anything while they're gone, then why even leave it plugged in... as someone else suggested, just unplug it... then they'll save on their electric bill as well...

But again, we don't know the OP's intent of why he wants to suspend his SPs, and until we know that, there's not much help anyone can offer... because the why something needs to be accomplished is just as important as the what...

    <edit>
Btw, my post is not directed at you, I just used your reply as a starting point for mine...

That's okay. I was thinking maybe OP wants some of his season pass to keep recording while on vacation and some of shows don't - to make sure the disk space don't get full.

maybe we didn't answer fast enough, and now they've gone on vacation and left their poor Tivo alone, recording with no one to watch and love it.. a lonely Tivo...

    I'm just a lonely tivo,
    Lonely and blue,
    I'm all alone,
    With no one to view.

    I've got everything
    Laid on very thick,
    And all I want,
    Is someone to click.

Yes, someone to click, someone to record,
Someone to watch, before I get bored

I'd love to hear, somebody say,
    I just love to tivo-my-way.

    (apologies to Paul Anka)
