Forgot about Colton, I'd replace Phillip with him.
I don't like that they've gone to the fire-making challenge for the last spot in the final three. I suspect this was done to allow a more "deserving" player to make it into the finals, one who would otherwise almost certainly be voted out at the final four. But what it's done is skewed the results toward those who are best at making fire which really shouldn't play such a big role in determining the winner. And not coincidentally, every season they final spot has been decided by a fire-making challenge, a man has won the game. It will be interesting to see if a woman can win the current season and stop that streak.
I didn't think it was bad at all. I really liked the idea of having them all living on the same beach to begin with and I wish they would do that again. The problem was they divided the tribes by gender and that didn't work. What I would love to see is all the tribes living together on the same beach, not assigned to any tribe. But then when they go to a challenge, they get separated into two tribes in some random way and then the team that loses goes to TC. That way, there is never an artificial "us vs. them" mentality and instead everyone gets to know everyone equally and the alliances and strategy would be shaken up by different combinations of players going to TC each time.
The idea of One World was intriguing and should be revisited. The cast was just mostly unlikable or forgettable.
Uggg Coulton. He's got to be one of the worst. Right up there with the younger Hantz.
You have 39 days to improve your fire making skills. That’s after all the time you’ve had applying and going through the interview process. There should be no reason for anyone to not be proficient at making fire.
Mine would be Rupert (number one by about a thousand miles; cannot STAND him), Colton, and Jeff Varner for the despicable outing of Zeke.
I don't really get the skills to the fire making. It almost seems random whose fire starts quickly and whose doesn't. Surely they have all practiced over and over again. Is the wood and stuff they're given different from what they have at camp?
Just started rewatching Season 10 (Palau)---the one with Tom and Stephenie. The beginning of that was so brutal, with the schoolyard pick as to who was going to be on which tribe and 2 players left at the end who had to go home immediately...
If anyone ever deserved to get kicked off the island ASAP it's the singing lady:
That is so crushing! Was Lillith one of them?
inspiration of the dearly departed RHAP Wand-Off, home of some of the funniest bad singing ever
I guess you missed Elizabeth trying to beat Robb at immunity isle. There's a skill to it, it's not just random which one starts lights first.
I hated Rupert ever since the whole stealing the shoes thing in the beginning of his season. He's just an annoying character. I never understood why he was so popular.
Coach and Former Federal Agent Phillip didn't bother me as much.
Colton and Brandon Hantz are both good suggestions... I'd pick them over the Dragonslayer and Stealth R Us.
Coach and Phillip were people I loved to hate. Colton was a person I just hated. Brandon Hantz came across to me as budding young psychopath who could go off the deep end just about anytime.
the next season in my order was Gabon, so I decided to rewatch that one even though I've seen it already. Bob Crawley, the physics teacher, Sugar, the pinup model, Corrinne, recently on Amazing race, Randy Bailey the videographer and Crystal the Olympian.
Just a few episodes in and you'll never guess what was in the wilds of Survivor! That's right .... a PENCIL. The contestants had to go off and rank the value of everyone on their tribe by writing on a piece of paper. I wish they had more things like that now, where it becomes really apparent how you stack up to others.
After Palau (S10), I watched a few episodes of Africa (S03), but quickly got bored. I then watched Samoa (S19), the first one with Russell Hantz. Enjoyed it.
Now watching Cagayan (S28) aka Brawn vs Beauty vs Brains. Amazing how stupid the "brains" group was...
Cagayan (Brawn vs Beauty vs Brains) is one of my favorite seasons
My first thought re: the pencil was the note that JT wrote to Russell.
My bottom 3 would have to be Coach, Rupert and Jonny Fairplay.
Cagayan is a fantastic season! If I had to pick one season that I would show someone that has never watched Survivor before, it would probably be Cagayan.
