Brandon made a bonehead move, that's for sure.

But both Coach and Albert managed to navigate the move without permanently losing Brandon's jury vote.

Albert's job was easy; he simply didn't vote for Brandon.

Coach's job was more difficult; he had to vote for Brandon, but in a way that wouldn't alienate him. So he turned the decision over to God, which gives Coach some cover.

But why does anybody in this game think they can beat Coach at the final Tribal Council?

I thought I was watching the 700 Club for awhile. Obviously there was going to be some conflict once we got to this point but it wasn't as good as I thought it would be. Good point about Ozzy feeding and consoling all the jury members as they pass through RI. If he's in the final 3 he's got a good shot.

    Wow.

If you have complete and total faith in your God, that's one thing. I have to say that blind faith in your fellow players who are competing with you for a million dollars...that's just stupid.

I had to explain to my 9 year old the concept of being a martyr based on what we saw in this episode. Someone needs to explain the concept of a grey area to Brandon.

    Wow.

Speaking of final 3, I liked it better when it was final 2.

Wow, 2nd time someone has given up their immunity necklace to then get voted out.

And I'm not sure Albert could have looked any worse to the jury there.

I know it's been mentioned before, but this just seems like the producers decided that the show would be better served if the 2 most "famous" or recognizable players got the title of "winner". This would enable them to get more money from appearances and help promote the show.

So they spent 2 seasons simply rigging the games for Rob and Coach/Ozzie to win. There can be no other explanation. These players never contemplate voting Coach out. It's like it is not even a possibility. The only person to even mention it, Albert, was quickly dismissed by an otherwise smart person (Sophie) and immediately branded an idiot by every subsequent interview or discussion shown to us.

This season and the past season, the players seem to have been told from day 1 that they are playing for second place. In this instance, First place is reserved for Ozzie or Coach. The producers don't care which one, but one of them is absolutely going to win.

Hell, the whole redemption island thing is basically their way of making sure that - should the unexpected happen and the actors go off-script and vote the pre-determined winners out - the mechanism is already in place to put the people they want back into the game. Just in case, they are delaying the "back into the game" until the last possible moment. RI ends when there are 4 (!) players left. Hell, I'm surprised Ozzie isn't back into the game when they reach the final 3; just to make sure that at least one of the two makes the final 3. I suspect they did it at 4 because Coach has the HII. This is so rigged and scripted, I feel totally cheated.

God spoke to me during this episode, and He commandeth me to yell at the contestants the following truth, "God doesn't give two sh*ts about what happens on Survivor!!!"

Agree totally in the "no one is trying to get Coach out?????" equation.

    I just don't get that!

Given the makeup of the jury, I suspect either Ozzy or Brandon could beat Coach in the final. Possibly Sophie as well.

I don't agree that they should, but I think that they could.

Right now I only want Brandon to send Ozzy to the jury. He's gotta go.

I loved Coach's handling of Brandon.

"That's what God told you to do."

I agree...that was a slick use of the language that Brandon could understand and even respect.

I think this is one of those situations where knowing Coach has the HII has made him disappear in the conversation of voting him out. They are so afraid to cross him and have him use the idol. How many times have we seen players voted out with the HII in their pocket in a great blindside? But these idiots are afraid to make that move.

Coach is destined to Final 4 because of the HII, could they vote him out as the last jury member? we'll see if they have the guts.

Couldn't agree more. I've said on this board a number of times how every recent season seems rigged to a great extent (and the comments have been met with boos). If you look at the tribal makeups, Rob, for example, was placed with the perfect followers for him. Now Coach enjoys the same benefit. And that's not all. I can't remember specifics because the show is becoming forgetable (and I can't recall much anymore anyway :) ) Whoever is running Survivor could write a book on social manipulation because they have it down to a science.

On another note if Brandon knew how to play the game (and was more together) he would be the best ever. When he tells those sad stories even if you hate him... they are so powerful.

It's right up there with ice cream scooper Erik giving immunity to the Evil Temptress herself, Parvati!

It also seems that every season we have some "biggest move (insert dumb or amazing) move in survivor history".

This game seemed so scripted I am barely watching it. And, yet, I still do. Silly me.

I am still waiting to see a tie in the final vote. With 3 in the finals it will happen sooner or later. I just want to know what they would do at that point. Has Jeff ever talked about it in his blog?
