There is a teaser for Season 31 of Survivor at the end of tonight's episode. Jeff tells us that next season's cast will be chosen by vote. The candidates are returning players getting a 2nd chance. The URL for voting is:

    http://www.cbs.com/shows/survivor/second-chance/

The winning cast will be revealed on May 20 at the reunion show.

I'm okay with the concept, not so crazy about the selection. There are 16 men and 16 women. A small few I'd like to see again, another few I don't, and a large middle of people I barely remember. Thankfully, someone has created a Wikipedia page with references to all of their seasons.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Survivor_31

I'm gonna read through that before I vote.

What do all y'all think about this?

    Meh.

I like it better when everyone is new. This season has been good - all new, no celebrities, no Exile, no Redemption - just Survivor. A bunch of strangers who know nothing about each other going at it.

I'm not going to vote because I don't feel like giving CBS my name & email address. I get enough junk mail without adding to it. Besides, I prefer all new people each season.

My across the street neighbor asks that you make her teenage son happy by voting for Teresa Cooper. Both the neighbor and Cooper are Delta flight attendants, and the kid is a Survivor nut.

    Just asking.

I don't understand how current players that are still in the game are included. Why are they telling us that Mike needs a second chance?

If one of the players left in the game wins, they'll be removed from the choices.

I don't like that you have to vote for 10 of 16 possible choices, when I only want to vote for 3-5.

I think that Jeff's reasoning for why they included those two current players is bs ("We found a way to add a little twist, a little layer of mystery"), and that neither of them won this season.

It could just be Jeff's reasoning after the fact, but I have seen it talked about in depth for the last few weeks on Survivor websites so they certainly were aware. I assume there would've been a plan in place other than spoiling the current season.

I only remember a couple of the women, but the men... can we have a whole show with a bunch of men?

    Vytas
    Spencer
    Joe
    Culpepper
    Fishbach
    Mike
    Jeremy
    Woo
    Shane
    Varner
    Deitz
    Troyzan
    Andrew

Then we're left with Kass? Kimmie? Wigglesworth (boy she either hasn't aged well or some work didn't turn out too well)? Where are the players in the women's line-up? Abi-Maria? Come on.

None of my favorites are here (can't even remember most of the women), so no need to vote.

I see enough of Culpepper in his stupid television commercials. Even with TiVo I've seen that same damn ambulance chaser ad too often.

It would've been nice to know ahead of time that their were contestants from this season on there.

I also didn't have 10 people I wanted to vote for - why couldn't it be "up to 10"
For the women, I just chose those that would look best in a bikini.

Really? She looks about what I'd expect 22-year-old Kelly to look like at 37.

It's amazing how many of them I have no recollection of.

I would be happy with having a season of all women.

Imagine the drama and, based on the list on the website, there would be a pretty good selection of eye candy.

The pickins are pretty slim. It seems like there will be lots of young girls and lots of older guys. That doesn't sound too promising for the girls.....

I wonder if I can vote for the guys and skip the girls. I don't recognize most of them, but I want to vote for Joe and Mike--and Not vote for Shirin and Caroline.

Me either. But lots of times I hardly recognize them at the reunion show all fixed up. They should have shown them as they looked in their season. (I don't care enough to take the time to research it.)
