    Great episode.

I wonder why Russell didn't bid on any food items (or was that the edit?).

Why did John vote for Mike? Wasn't he in on the Dave plan?

Natalie held that rope longer than most of the men. She has a hell of a grip (swoon). :D

Crazy as it seemed, Shambo had a point about making soup with the chicken instead of roasting it. And I love how she put Dave in his place since he had treated her much the same a few episodes ago. Still, she's wearing "crazy" all over herself these days.

I love how they edited the questions at TC, especially when Jeff asked Dave, Shambo and then John if they'd be surprised by the vote. :)

Does anyone know when the finale will air? Seems there are too many people to eliminate by the rumored 12/20 finale.

No, John thought the plan was to vote a Foa Foa next and Mick was it.

add to that he can say that John figured out that Russell had the HII (true) and thus he had to go before he spilled the beans

At first, I thought we'd see Russell trying to get Shambo to go along with the plan to get rid of John. But, I figured she'd just be stubborn and vote for Dave anyway.

Her reaction at the results, however, prove that she was convinced that her original deal with Russell was still good.

Russell had two levels of deception going on this time. Damn, he's good!

This might be a smeek, but I wanted to say it before I got busy. Sham is insignificant. Since both sides could see her flip flopping potential (ala John), and really Foa needed her then but don't know, and Galu never liked her, she's could be gone next. Get rid of the wildcard.

The thing that gets me, is that nobody realizes that Russell is running the game? If I was someone like Chaison, I would be pulling in all the Galu and say we need to blind side Russell or he will win the game. I can't imagine that would be so hard to do. Maybe it's something to do with the editing that we can see it and they can't.

x2 I was pretty disappointed about this :(

Also Jeff seemed surprised (or at least made a dramatic deal of it) that Jaison chose to go back 2 notches at the 4th one but I think even better would have been to do it at 3 (as soon as he possibly could) in order to maximize the advantage of having less weight to hold.

My wife and I argued over this before it started - I'm with you, take the advantage immediately - gives you the max advantage for the max time, she felt you should wait until the end to use it. To her credit, after watching it unfold, she changed her mind.

John's article/blog posted above is hilarious! You have to admit he's got a good sense of humor about the whole thing.

LOL, I'm pretty sure that was Dalton Ross writing for John. :)

That was Dalton's writing style. I doubt John saw it before it was published.

I guess I was confused then. I don't know who Dalton is. I figured it was John's last name. Thanks! But still funny :D

First, I disagree that Shambo is insigficant. Her defection is key to Russel, at least for the moment. Once it is down to 7 people, Foa Foa can, if they choose, get rid of her. But I wouldn't becuase of Jury considerations, which I'll go into in a moment.

Second, I think the "rocket scientist" was one of the WORST players of the game. I re-watched some older episodes. After the merge, it was HE who talked Eric into not simply voting out Foa Foa but to try to eliminate one of the girls. When Eric stupidly went to Foa Foa, Foa Foa brilliantly spilled the beans and got Eric voted out. But is was "rocket scientist" that gave a defeated Foa Foa new life. Then, instead of accepting the rock drawing risk, he jumps sides to help Galu officially become the underdogs. He is, without a doubt, the most over-rated player in this game.

Russell made a bad move. He needed to make absolutely sure that the loose-cannon Shambo stayed loyal, at least until it was down to 7. But looking ahead to the jury, if Russell makes it to the final 2 or three, the jury will be either 10 or 9 people, and either way the majority of the jury will be former Galu members - probably 7 Galu and 3 Foa Foa if it is a jury of 10. Russell's best play would be to end up on the final 2 with SHAMBO...becasue the 7 Galu members of the jury will NEVER vote for SHAMBO - they hate her, and ultimately, at the final Tribal Council, all Russell has to say is something to the effect of "I came into a merge down 8 to 4...I did what I had to do, every week, to keep our 4 in the game. Every one of you on the jury would have done the same thing if you were in my position. I never double-crossed any of you, I just played the game. You should not have any problem with what I did. Unlike Shambo, I did not double cross my team and jump. If you are going to have a problem with someone, it should be with Shambo."

Finally, Russell should have gone to Shambo and tried to talk her into voting the Rocket Scientist off. If he couldn't, then he could have at least said to her he respected her feelings but couldn't guarantee the others would vote Dave as well. At least that would keep Shambo from feeling betrayed and blindsided again.

I think Shambo has a pretty strong connection to Russell and she'll listen to him. She also always had a stronger connection to the Foa Foa people despite living at different camps. And she really doesn't like Dave anyways. I really think (and hope) Russell will weasel his way out of this again. Or that he'll play his immunity idol to again stick around.

I wonder if Shambo will ask Russell for his immunity idol to make amends.

    I agree.

I don't see Shambo buddying up with Dave, which is the only thing that could hurt Russell. If Shambo went back to Galu member, it would be 4 vs 4. But I just don't see her doing it.

Russell can probably easily talk his way out of it by saying that Mick and Jaison wanted John out first. He can say he tried to get them to swing over to Dave, but they wouldn't budge.

Yes leaving Shambo out of the loop is key. She hates that, which Jaison observed when he and Mick discussed voting John out instead of Dave.

Russell had a solid block of three with Natalie and Shambo which would make it prohibitive to back-door him without it getting back to him. Now Galu + Shambo have the imperative to get out the strongest player left in the game, Russell. He'll have to play the idol next round anyway which makes his move to get out John wasted.

If I were Russell, I'd have immediately bid on the extra immunity idol clue. Something small, like $100, maybe going to $200 if someone else bid. That would have given people who didn't already know you had it a thought that you didn't have it and were still actively looking for it.

It was fun watching the poor sucker who did buy the clue ( forgot who it was) wander around looking in the same general area where Russell already found it.

After next week's episode (12/10), they'll be down to 6, after 12/17, they'll be down to 5. On Sunday 12/20, 1 person will get eliminated in the first hour of the show, and during the 2nd hour, another person will be eliminated bringing them down to the final 3.
