Advertisements This season is interesting in the contrast between Rob and Russell. I've never really been a fan of either (as people) but enjoy watching them both. Does this sort of hammer home the fact that Rob is the better player? Both were feared, both had targets. Rob seems very safe and in control. Russell never was. Russell played a pretty lousy game. He could have done more of a Jimmy Johnson thing and said "Look, I know I won't go very far, but let me stick around and help since I've done this before and can give a lot of insight." Instead, he gets two weak players and somehow tries to win from an enormously out-numbered position. He was somehow counting on a combination of finding an idol + hope to make him go far. Or perhaps he knew he wouldn't last long and thus didn't try very hard. He might even say that. But that's not Russell. He just isn't that good at the game anymore. He's created a Russell that just won't make it far ever again. He peaked. He's done.
