I can understand the concern...if you get sick, especially stomach related....your game is DONE.

    from probst blog:
"Mike could be on Redemption for a while."

appears RI will be similar to format before. also confusing..mike/matt not seeing the 2nd TC since they could be part of the jury, no? will the RI people see the TC as the jury has before?

I'm glad you're not in my league this year. ;) I think it's been really hard to pick this time. I didn't even get who was voted off yesterday when it should have been obvious and there were 2 chances. :(

So we have 9 people left in the tribe (the Ometepe 6 and the Zapatera 3) and 3 on Redemption Island (Matt, David and Mike). How many do they need for the jury? How many finalists? If they have 3 finalists and 9 jurors...we're there. Then the next person that loses at RI will be a member of the jury.

Let's assume for a moment my guess is correct. At what point is the winner at RI let in the game. I cannot imagine they bring the RI winner back with less than 6 people remaining in the tribe. That would be too late for them to be able to prove themselves worthy...especially if it is Matt that has spent all but 5 or 6 days away from the tribes.

So here's my guess at what happens next:
    1. Everyone left that is not in the finals will be on the jury.
    2. We will get a 3 person RI showdown next week with 1 winner.
    3. Two more will go to RI before there will be another 3 person challenge. That winner will rejoin the tribe and there will be 8 left when they abandon the RI.
    4. Whoever returns from RI will be voted back off at the next TC.
    5. The 3 Ometepe women will realize after they vote off Grant at Rob's instructions that they have the power and will vote off Rob and Phillip and make the finals.
    6. Natalie wins in the vote for being the strongest player of the 3.

This is just one way it could go, lord knows anything could happen and a player could get injured and screw everything up. It's just an educated guess from someone that has seen every episode of every season.

I was thinking that too. The entire tribe should have sat out, and eaten. Doesn't matter who wins, they'll just pick someone else to vote out.

I think it's too early. Rob's plan *is* working well, and all the Ometepes are hanging tight. If Grant flips now, he may be able to pull off a blindside, but he is also quite likely to be one of the first voted out by the new tribe in power. I say sit tight and wait until you have to start eating your own. Then make a play against BR, and hope the others are smart enough to join you.

And that's the beauty of BR's plan. He does appear to be pulling off an almost impossible task--keeping a tribe solid, with no flips or blindsides.

Agreed, it makes no sense for anyone to flip now. You'd just go to the bottom of the other tribe and tick off a bunch of jury members. The other tribe can't really hold it against anyone for staying in their original alliance. Stay with the 6 and then make your move.

I think it was interesting what one of the commentors on Jeff's blog posted about how the Zap tribe should have said "Zapatara has all agreed that as long as Rob makes it to the end, we all vote for him to win. So if any of the rest of them want to win, they'll have to vote with us to get him out."

The only power that Zap has right now is in Jury votes. It may not work, but anything else they've got going on isn't working either.

I loved the look on Rob's face when that woman said he was a cult leader: it was like "Shut UP! Don't give them any ideas!". Rob has been playing a great team game, but once its down to his 6, I don't see him strategizing that much. Maybe he has the girls in his pocket, but there are three of them. He better watch out!

I think Rob is getting too cocky but I also think his teammates are starstruck. I don't know if they will turn on him.

They put two TCs in one show because they have to do that a couple times a season to get from 18 original players down to the final 3 in 13 episodes. This season there is even more of a need for that because they didn't eliminate anyone in the first episode and they're bringing at least two people back. Right now, they've had 9 episodes and only really eliminated 6 people. There are three more on RI but at least one of them will be coming back at some point. So they'll either have a couple more double elimination episodes or they're going to have more than 13 episodes this season.
I got the sense that it was their net that was normally out in the water and maybe the tide had gone out exposing the net.

As for Rob being cocky, I think he went over the line with the fish thing. I agree with everything else he's done and I love the way he's convinced his tribe to stay together and not even allow the Zapateras to find a crack they can exploit. But convincing your tribe to sit there and refuse food just seemed petty. My guess is that he explained the potential health risks to his tribemates and they all agreed it wasn't worth the risk, but then the editors conveniently left that out of the episode so they could perpetuate the image of the "Robfather."

    is it...
About the fish. The way I was taught was if the gills are still red, they are good to eat. If the gills have turned white, throw them away. As stiff as those fish were, I'd bet on white gills.

But I've never been as hungry for protein as they must be when I threw away a dead fish. I'm pretty sure I'd have eaten them in that situation.

I keep thinking back to the last reunion show where Rob was highlighted in the audience for his new baby and no mention of anybody else. I just keep wondering if there was more to that mention then we currently know.

Actually they did show Russell in the background with a sour look on his face... I figured he didn't go far in this one from that...

But I'm not saying someone at Ometepe would flip. It's 6 against 3 now. Forget the 3, they almost don't matter.

5 people from Ometepe would get together and say "we have the numbers even if we lose 1, this is the time to get rid of X since he/she is too big a threat/pain in the butt/ugly/whatever".

I can see this being applied to Grant (too strong), Rob (he will win if he makes it to the final), or Andrea (she almost flipped before). This is the time when Ometepe starts turning on itself. If not at 6-3, I can almost guarantee it at 6-2.

I definitely could see someone thinking that way. I believe that would be a mistake. They are up 6-3 now, it would take 2 to flip to switch things around. If they vote out one of their own it's 5-3. Whoever of the 3 at RI return to the game would go the other way, making it 5-4. Then it only takes one to flip.

I guess it's easy for us to analyze things after the fact, I'd love to be able to see what really goes on there 24/7, we see such a tiny bit. Some of the decisions people make on that game make no sense based on what we see but maybe they make better sense if we knew the whole story.

oh, I'm not saying it would be a good decision. It's no smarter than intentionally losing a challenge to get rid of someone you don't like ;)

But that is how people would naturally react, especially when they've been sitting pretty and confident for days now.

Yup, the same way the other tribe acted when they threw the challenge to get rid of Russell. You get cocky when you have the numbers.

And why did they all vote for Philip the first time around and not Rob, just in case something happened?
