I think it's funny that Jeff compared Nay not only to a first grader, but he also double slammed her by calling her a stupid first grader when he mentioned that she acted like a seven year old first grader. Aren't most first graders six years old? So she must've failed Kindergarten or be a first grade repeat. :)

*I'm gonna have serious egg on my face if I've got the ages of most first graders incorrect.

Actually these days, a lot of parents are holding back from starting their kids until they are 6. My son just finished Kindergarten and he had two friends turn 7 during Kindergarten!

I turned 7 in first grade. My birthday is in December, and the cut off for starting school was October 1, so I had to wait until the following year to start school.

    At least I thought I could've been wrong. :)

I was also a December baby, but my parents enrolled me in private school and I skipped Kindergarten and was a first grader at five (this was supposedly due to Montessori school and passing an entrance test of some kind).

A poster on another board's daughter was on the same athletic team as Naonka in college. Apparently the attitude is 100% real, and much of the bio she gave the show is farfetched.

I agree, but my 21 YO step daughter apparently is fine with it.

While I agree that laying around sucks too, I think your energy level might be a little low when you've only had 300 calories a day for two straight weeks.

And there's not much to do in those conditions anyway! They probably run out of things pretty quickly.

If you work on fishing more you get more fish (I think). Heck, Jane had an entire fish -- that's a pretty good meal anywhere. :p

Then the sea urchins. Didn't look too hard to collect and eat.

I agree they're much more tired than me and aren't getting that many calories. Heck, I might be doing the same thing if I were with them.

Or perhaps the edits are being made to show them lying around and it's just perception by Jane that nobody is working. They ARE trying to show us a couple of days in 45 minutes time.

They were lying around in week 1 and every season we have the workers, and the lazy bastards.

True. And there always will be those that do more work and those that sit around. But I think everyone does a fair amount of sitting around, and everyone probably does a little work. And they're just editing the show to make it seem like a bigger deal than it really is.

After Naonka was eating and they did the one-on-one with her (9 minutes in) while she talked about eating, and hiding a piecei of salami in her bra.....her mentioning 'her booty' followed by her farting was a class act.

    Altho I did laugh.

I liked her too and was sorry to see her go. She seemed pleasant and 'under the radar' at least as depicted by the editors. After reading Jeff's blog, I googled dirt squirrel. And wow -- he called her a nasty, nasty name! What's up with that??

Yep, from what I gather it's done so that the kids will be the oldest and most physically developed for athletics.

I like Alina. I don't know why everyone hated her. She seems smart. Perhaps that is one of her undoings...she was playing the game too much for the people she was not aligned with. Actually, didn't Fabio say something to that effect in this episode?
