    Wow...I did not see that coming! Of course there were lots of other ways the boys could have played it that makes more sense...but then again they are on the Brawn tribe for a reason!

    Their strategy was to be vocal and visible with the idols, hoping to scare votes away from them, knowing they had the super idol as a guarantee to fall back on if the intimidation didn't work to keep votes away. By doing it that way they could keep doing it every single week. They didn't actually want to use the idols unless forced to. That's why they were so vocal, IMO. That and the simple fact that they are jerks. :p

    I don't think Jason (nor Scot) has a chance with the jury. You can argue outplay and whether what Jason and Scot did is game play, but they have basically come across as bullies and no one will want to reward them. I think anyone else beats Jason, if he is final 3. (And taking Jason & Scot, i think, guarantees a win for whomever takes them.)

    Fair point. I guess I just don't like anything that powerful.

    Totally agree. Tai was in a good spot by being in an alliance with Jason and Scot because he could beat either of them. While they were likely going to try and get rid of him before the finale, he could have just as easily turned on them when he was closer to the end.

    But now he's publicly distanced himself from the alliance and that's going to mean that Jason wants Tai out. It also means that Aubry, Julia, and the others see that Tai is shifty and unpredictable so they'll likely want to get rid of him sooner rather than later.

    So I think if he had stuck with Jason & Scott, he'd be a cinch to get to final five and then he could have maneuvered his way into the top three at that point. But now, he's got a target on his back and unless he plays his idol and his advantage properly, it's very possible he goes home before final five. Plus, by turning on Jason and Scot, he's lost potential jury votes as well, whereas I don't know that he gets votes from Neal, Joe, Debbie, or the other girls if he's sitting in the final three against Aubry, Julia, Michelle, or Joe.

    I respectfully disagree. And it all depends on the makeup and mood of the jury. Julia can point to very little she did in the game. Quite often juries don't like floaters, or people who've done nothing. I think Jason could also use the family card. He's already planted a sob story if I recall. Tai on the other hand beats either of them, probably unanimously. But, Tai looks at it that S/J might THINK they have a better chance against Julia in the final three, and that might have been enough to for Tai to try and get rid of them while he can, considering they would have a great chance to at least get to the final three.

    I think 4 of the 6 remaining will be delighted with what Tai did. That's not to say he doesn't need to guard against them trying to get him off, but he built more potential jury goodwill with that move than the opposite.

    He's got an idol and an extra vote. There are 7 people left, so he's got 3 Tribals to use his 2 advantages on and then it's a level playing field. He's a challenge threat in endurance contests so I'd say he's got a decent shot.

    The only thing better than Scott going home was Scott going home with Jason's idol in his pocket. That was awesome!

    While I didn't really like Scot, watching his Ponderosa video, I think he got a little bit of a bad edit. I don't think he is a Boy Scout or anything, but he seems more level and less of a jerk than he did in his TV edit.

    The votes were 4-2-2, for Scot, Tai, and Aubry, IIRC. If Tai gave his idol to Scot, Scot would be safe, and there would be a tie between Tai and Aubry. On the revote, you can only vote for Tai or Aubry, and Tai and Aubry can't vote. The numbers in that case would favor Aubry. So if Tai gives it up, he goes home. I think he just thought that through and figured out that giving up the idol was not an option.

    I think he thought it through before that, when he voted for Scot

    If he had voted the way he was supposed to, according to his agreement with the guys, there would have been no tie between him and Aubry, it would have been between Aubry and Scot. Tai would have been safe in that case.

    Are you sure about this? I thought Julia was the only vote for Tai.

    Yeah, but what boot is saying is that if Tai gives up the SI to keep Scot safe, Tai risks going home on the revote as there would have been a tie between Aubry and Tai after Scot's votes were nullified.

    I know... but cherry ghost said he thought that Tai thought that through before he voted for Scot in the first place. I don't think his decision to vote Scot had anything to do with saving his own butt in a 4-2-2 vote. :)

    Yep, just checked myself:

    Jason --> Aubry
    Scot --> Aubry
    Julia --> Tai
    Michele --> Tai
    Joe --> Scott
    Sydney --> Scot
    Aubry --> SCot
    Tai --> Scot

    I agree with you. His vote for Scot was to switch alliances and bust up the S/J duo, not to save his own butt in any way.

    So the new power group is Tai, Aubry, Joe and Michele.

    What I'm saying is that he didn't think anything through once the votes were read. His decision not to give up his idol was made in conjunction with his decision to vote for Scot.

    I thought the same thing, like the one guy said are we going to get the 14 year old burping Scot or the deeper Scot. Man that was a sad letter he got.
