I said to myself about half way through the show that Dave is a "tool". Ashley confirmed that description during her exit speech. The tribe had the right idea to get rid of one of the two that were constantly bickering and I suppose they chose the correct one to vote off. Dave does work and should be useful in the challenges if he would put basic nutrition ahead of building a bbq pit.

They had a flint. There's no reason they couldn't make a fire somewhere to cook something and then just let it go out. Then when the ultimate BBQ is done, start another one. I too was surprised when they voted her out over him, especially with his horrible performance in the challenge.

Jeff has the quote of the year so far during the mud challenge "everybody's ripping off everybody's clothes!" :D

I am disappointed that Ashley was voted out; it should have been Dave. He single-handedly led the tribe to starvation and another loss in the challenge.

But I think the trend of stupid early-on strategy continues. The tribe thought, "we have to get rid of one, and we need strength, so get rid of the girl."

Despite the fact that Ashley was the strongest woman on the show, and that strong women often tip the scales in challenges. Not every challenge is a test of male strength.

And Dave is just so annoying, condescending, and patronizing. Yecch.

THANK YOU! I was saying the exact same thing. I was saying to myself last night that if only three people are building the firepit, why not let the others go make a temporary fire to get food cooked? They haven't eaten in six days, and you want to wait to build a fire until the firepit is just perfect? Bad, bad idea.

I said it in last week's thread, but this week's episode just reminded me that Dave is a dangerous player. He's a persuasive snake, and people are almost blindly following him. It makes no sense.

perhaps Dave is planning on starting a masonry/fire pit building company... that finished pit ROCKS!! It looks wicked nice.

There were a few good shots of it when they returned to their camp IN the lake.

Dave is a tool, I think he'll be next to go when they lose the challenge again next week.

Yeah, I thought it was really bizarre how a Christian talk show host would describe herself as not being religious. I would imagine that would be a job requirement. :D

Is the "hidden" immunity idol that square piece of wood nailed up on their shelter or did they keep showing that as a red herring?

I was under the impression that the center gold-colored portion of that would pop off and was the II.

they'll need more clues since that would be one thing I would think of as "set" and not actually an idol... it'd have to be some kind of "hit you over the head" clue too *shrug*

I don't know if Leslie has seen Survivor before, but sharing the Immunity Idol has not worked out all that well. All it shows is she is not bright enough to figure out the clue without help. Where is Jesus when you really need him?

I did not find Ashley attractive at all. Those mouth rings are awful and those phony breasts look ridiculous.

    Herndon,...
I tried very hard to imagine her without her lip-rings and floatation devices and found that she'd have been darned attractive without all that distracting decoration. Oh well...

I didn't find her to be anything special either.

Not saying I wouldn't want to see her nekkid! As Ron White says "You seen one woman naked....You wanna see the rest."
